I went down that route for a while, got myself an accord one generation older than yours, then bought used wheels and coilovers, not in greatest condition but reputable brand. car was $2000, mods were another $600, I was 19 so budget was tight, but I wanted to un-grandpa my unremarkable car and I got there I'd say, it really was a fun experience, just slowly cruising in the city you feel like you have something exclusive that others don't, I grew attached to my car, see "ikea effect" for appreciating things you worked on yourself. I would go on drives, wash it, stare at it for hours, met some nice people, gone to many events and places I wouldn't have before. and years later I reverted it back to stock and sold my wheels and coils for a small profit, it was free fun, I still have the same car and it still runs great.

@@boxenjoyerkona Rice as a term is used to discribe a failed attempt to capture the style of a racecar, usually in poor taste with tacky modifications and a low standard, hence the term race inspired, since they share nothing with race cars. "Stance" cars (despite all cars havinf a stance) do not attempt to look or preform like racecars. Racecars have perfect camber for their application, and so do stance cars: their application is to make the car look as low as possible to the ground, and some people may choose a aggressive look through huge amounts of camber. Its not inspired by racecars, as they have two completely different goals in mind. Exessively lowering cars is not something racecars do; low racecars are lowered to fit their conditions of operation. "Stanced" cars can be riced: the two groups aren't mutually exclusive. But if we look at the Accord in this video, its clearly more inspired by Aussie Sex Spec cars and early 2000s 'Tuner' culture with the chrome rims and the subwoofers, and while it may not be built to a high standard like those cars, its not race inspired. A Civic with a fart can exhaust, knockoff 'race' springs (not lowering springs) and Rotas or other rep wheels would be considered rice, as its drawing inspiration from a shallow view of racecars.

TSX is a great car. I have a 2006 6MT. Bought it in April 2008 with 10k miles. Currently has 293k. Replaced the steering rack at 125k, water pump at 280k, and an ignition coil at 290k. That's it, other than normal wear and tear. Even has the original clutch. Great car.

I literally can't fathom how anyone can think stance is dumb or that it looks bad. Like I cannot picture disliking this look. And that just shows you how different some people are from one another. Its either for you or it isn't. I just hate how much hate and division there is is in the car scene. We all love the same thing, and that's cars. If we were all the same there would be no diversity, and that's boring. I love all cars and everyone's taste because that's what makes us all unique and I love that. I'm not some strictly stance car guy, I've had two track built cars so if anyone thinks I'm some stance fanboy, I'm not. But I've had a stance car before and damn do I love it. I just really do not get how people can get so triggered by a car that isn't even theirs.

Despite their negative views, I completely respect G&G's negative criticism towards the stance scene, and all their points are 100% true and valid. The Jetta, I think, looks horrendous but the TSX is honestly pretty clean. But it's something about these low to the floor cars that get me so stoked and the community behind it is full of just natural hype as well. The love for this scene is something that can't be described.
