INFO ABOUT BOTH CATS
Stanley -
Stanley turned up outside my home back in March 2023.
When he first turned up I assumed he had an owner and was just being greedy begging for food.
Then one morning he came to me crying holding his leg up, telling me he was injured.
I managed to catch him and got him to the vets for a check and to be scanned for a chip to find his owner.
His leg was fine. He had no chip and wasn't neutered.
He's maybe around 6 or 7 years old.
He wore a paper collar for a week with a message on for any owner he might have.
Nobody claimed him.
May 2023 - Stanley was neutered and chipped.
He has a bad skin allergy which I've tried to get sorted at the vets, but is taking time.
June 2023 - Stanley now spends most of his time indoors and shares the bedroom with Olive.
He does still go outside, but only for a couple of hours a day.

Olive -
Olive was adopted from a cat sanctuary on 6th January 2023.
A female tortoiseshell cat around 2 years old and was taken in as a stray with kittens.
Her kittens were all adopted out, but Olive was still left behind.
They did tell me at the sanctuary she was one of the more difficult to adopt cats.
Very shy.
She hisses at me if I get too close and only comes out from under the bed when it gets late.
I've provided her with everything she needs and she is free to leave my bedroom, she just chooses not to.
It's very slow progress, but I hope to be friends with her eventually.
It was only mid April 2023 I heard her play for the first time.
Now I've got CCTV in her room I can actually see what she's doing!
Seeing her play makes me very happy.
I never got to look at her until I got the CCTV, so I'm grateful to see her doing anything!
I put these videos on KZread as a diary for myself really, and didn't expect to get many views.
May 2023 -
Olive started leaving the bedroom and now sneaks out a few times every night.
She peeps around the door at me and runs around the hallway looking for Stanley the stray cat who now legally belongs to me.
So he's Olives older brother.
I've no idea where he sleeps, but he visits me multiple times a day for food.
Stanley is very friendly so I'm hoping eventually he will start to stay for longer and maybe stay indoors at night.
June 2023 -
Stanley dislikes the hot weather so stays indoors most of the day.
He now stays in at night too.
Olive gets excited waiting for Stanley to come indoors and makes a friendly sound when she sees him, a mix between a purr and meow. Then she headbutts him in the face.
As soon as Stanley pays her any attention she lashes out at him!
Sometimes she will just lie down and watch him play with his toys and purr at him.
She has tried to get him to play with her a few times, but he ignores her.
Olive definitely needed another cat to keep her company.
She adores Stanley.
Maybe in time Stanley will pay more attention to her.
July 2023 - Stanley had a skin problem which is now better and his fur is growing back softer and thicker.
He's currently getting treatment for problems with his left ear.
Sep - Nov 2023 - Stanleys skin problem kept coming back because he has allergies.
He has regular steroid injections to help.
He also has to eat a special diet and has got to be kept indoors.
Trying to change his diet is difficult, but will have to be done.
I feel horrible not taking him for his morning walk.
He used to get really excited about going out every morning.
The last time he went outside was 20th November.
21st January 2024 - Stanley ran in his cat wheel for the first time!
April/May/June 2024 and there's not been much change ...

Wishing you all of the best with their test results while they are on the mend! It must have been a nice feeling to get to pet Olive after all this time! Even under the bad circumstances of a Vet visit. Olive's eyes do look a bit odd at the start of this video. Poor girl.

I'm sorry that I didn't get to reply to your long message in time. Now it doesn't show. The financial burdens, worrying about both cats and not very much sleep is very overwhelming I have no doubt. My cat is 15 years old and in generally good health. But gave me a scare the other night. He didn't sleep at my feet as usual. Didn't greet me for his Breakfast. Didn't do any "business" overnight for me to clean. So I went looking for him with dreading what I would find. He was asleep in his closet box. He finally ate. Then spent his little cat Penny! Then he came back and wanted to play! He started running and jumping around like a kitten! He has his moments! Just ignore/block and report all of the haters and trolls. They live to be negative and thrive on other peoples problems. It's sad to think of these people being adults with no other purpose than to spread their stupidity and hatred.

Aw. I'm glad he's ok. I deleted the long message because there's so much interest in my channels at the moment. I find normal days overwhelming. Then there's always other stuff going on with wildlife and stray cats that never ends. Lack of sleep really messes my head up. Last night I managed to sleep all night. The first night Olive has been quiet since Friday. One good thing about all this is I've seen how Stanley does actually care about Olive. He's been very worried about her. I thought their relationship was one sided.

@@OlivetheRescueCat Thanks! I wish there was something profound or motivational that I could write that would help you get through your days. Yes sleep is way more important than people think! Good on Stanley! I'm sure he's keen to picking up on Olive's pain. I bet he try's to help you in his own way too!
