#georgelever #stamaudio #audioscape
Stam Audio SA4000 MKII in comparison to the Audioscape Buss Compressor.
It is always difficult to tell what is changing when listening to gear comparison videos like these.
That is why I am providing the audio files for you to compare in your own time.
Meanwhile, I also share my own thoughts and feelings on the two units.
Which one would you get?

Great to see new content from you George! I like your quite original style of "reviewing"/talking about the products ;)
Wonderful comparison and great details in the second half! I'd been hoping you'd make a video like this after seeing the Audioscape on your IG :)
This is a great comparison. Thank you for doing it. I'm going to try to get a Stam I have the AS.
You are low key one of the funniest people I watch on KZread. It’s a dry, quirky humor that not everyone get but I think it’s hilarious.😂
Definitely just clicked cause it’s you and you’re a cool dude
GREAT comparison, George!! Love your authenticity and genuine, positive vibes attitude!! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!! <3 <3 We need to get you some more AS GEAR to test and give your honest opinion on! <3
Hello, what version of the Stam compressor is it? American, british or not modification? Thanks.
Great comparison dude. I've been between these and the Warm audio version. Also- good to see you, hope all is well.
Listened on my K&H O300 speakers and it is clear to me that the Stam has a slightly tighter bass as well, more controlled. The whole sound of the Stam is more controlled, in balance.
Enjoyed x
great video I've been waiting for over 2 years for josh to finish my stam compressor..
I'll much appreciate if you could add the dry unprocessed file in it as well as.
i thought both units sounded great, i added a 1.5 db boost to the SA files and they sounded almost identical. A lil push like you mentioned over the high end on the AS. What i did notice was that the SA did something to the 100 to 300 area that was cool, barely noticeable tho. like, made it super compact and more musical? wtf do i know lol I'd be happy with any!
Would love to get my hands on a stam audio one (preferably with the neve mod), but seems impossible.
I had them both and kept the Stam. Both solid gear.
what was the song demo'd here?
I received my SA4000 MKIII last month after waiting 8 months. You can switch between the E series and G series style comps with the MKIII. I got the Fairchild MOD. I really love it. I was all in the box before this purchase and I feel it's an upgrade to the way I worked before (although, I still love the Softube Bus Processor). Changed my work flow a bit but, it's ok.
The frequency response chart looks as if the Audioscape is a bit more neutral whereas the Stam has somewhat of a scoop. Curious why you feel the Stam was the neutral one. Thanks for the solid comparison!
So this Stam Comp is their mk2 version? IM curious if the DBX clone VCA’s are what’s causing these subtle tonal variations.
Can't hear a difference through my earbuds 👍👍👍 they both s q u a s h nicely
