0:02 It’s moments like these that I wish Colored subtitles were the standard in anime, that way I don’t have to learn an entire specific dialect of language to know who’s saying “@$$” and who’s saying “Foot”. When the Russian is spoken, it’s easier to tell who’s talking, Because as far as I know only 2 people in the anime so far, know and speak Russian, so by the voice actors alone, you could tell who’s saying what. Though aside from that, great anime.

It’s not a dialect thing, but Yuki when in school mode speaks really politely, specifically keigo, which you can probably pick up from her tone. It looks like her mental voice matches her speaking voice, maybe some kinda visualization training to keep the act up. Either way, she said what was the equivalent of “my foot” in the scene. Masachika’s line in Japanese isn’t as aggressive as “my ass” though. It was a bit of a creative liberty from the subber to portray the difference between Masachika and Yuki when she’s in school mode, and I think it adds to the scene

The multi-colored subtitles aren't a total solution, especially if the site in question can't manage to keep it consistent which color is which character. That's the one annoyance I have watching Oshi no Ko subbed, for example (which I always do) - so often there's multiple dialogues going simultaneously (such as one character's inner monologue as well as the lyrics for the song they're performing) that it's hard to follow them both. In a lot of cases, I find myself having to watch a scene three times: once to read the first set of subs, once to read the second set, and then a third time to watch what's actually going on in the scene. There's even one point (I think it's in the last episode when the new B Komachi is performing) where Kana's inner monologue starts out as one color of subtitle, then switches midway to the other color because the song lyrics (which were initially shown in the other color) stopped between two lines of the monologue.

The manga isn’t very far ahead, so far it’s only made up of 30 chapters or so and it doesn’t even cover the whole first season probably. So yeah, I’d suggest you watch the series first the read the manga from the beginning
