Cheap tools can be found randomly in any container at a very low chance. And the game seems to have a "pity" system where it spawns them in just for you as you open a container (seems to be an instant container reset function) if you haven't found any in a while. The reason why I suspect this is because I have (several times) looked in a room or area with a lot of crates that were empty or clearly partially looted, yet I found tools. It is very unlikely that the previous looter missed the one container, or that they left the tools once they saw them.

Also just so you know upgrades carry over from tier to tier. If I upgrade my green gun to +5 as long as I use it to get the next tier the next one will be +5 from the start. No need to hoard if your sure your gonna follow that path

Haha playing challenge mode and not realizing it. I did the same for awhile then saw a vid talking about how upgrades carry over to the weapons next upgrade

The benefit of early upgrades of weapons and armor that can themselves be turned into better equipment is that the repairs to durability damage from upgrade failures are MUCH cheaper in repair parts (because the weapons or armor you break down for parts for the lower tier parts you need are themselves cheaper to acquire).

I wish there was more info on what guns are the best to make. I have a pp19 I plan on turning into a asval. Got the hystrix rpd from the quest. Just don't know what to make next

Its not a bug with loading in the zone, if you read the bottom it says press any key to teleport lol. If You wait it will auto-teleport, so you burn invul time.

What a strange way to do it but that explains it so thank you 😁 as I say I learned something new in this game every day nearly 😂

If Id do anything different, it's to skip early zones as quickly as possible and just focus on hamzat scientist armor, centurion, coccoon, vintorez. Then farm cargoes for tools and quantum batteries.

funnily enough standard tools are cheaper on the market because you get a lot of standard weapons from airdrops, and also if you upgrade your garbage weapon and then upgrade it in the barter tree you keep the +5 upgrades
