I think that he's got a really good system and it works for him. His videos all seem to follow a similar format and it's really good and informative. I especially love the rural routes like this one.

Hi, needless to say that I love all your videos, but this is absolute superb!! This is one of my favourites, Carlisle region is so beautiful, featuring narrow and windy roads, a wide range of countryside landscapes, small villages with ancient cottages, lots of history to be told... I would watch this video for 3, 4 times and I don't bother....My huge thanks for the excellent footage and sharing this with everyone. My best regards, greetings from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Looks like a great bus route, I used to drive the Enviro 400's in the West Yorkshire area.

Was a pleasant ride and the town of Haltwhistle was a nice place. Pity Stagecoach can't provide double deckers with coach seats for such a long journey

would be better ride if we knew prices etc anyone can stick a dash cam on the windscreen but they really should read up on the route so viewers can get more info

There were some pretty steep hills between Hexham and Newcastle City Centre that the bus had to climb but it coped well. The weather really started to pick up after Hayden Bridge as well, that said though you often find that the East coast in the UK is usually brighter (less rain) but colder. The West of the UK is generally milder in temperatures but more rain.

I like the green with the old beachball livery

Very scenic, reminds me of the drive from Chicago to Detroit.

This is such a beautiful route going through tiny quaint towns in the hills and valleys! As a non-Brit, I do have a driving theory question. Is a bus or any other vehicle not allowed to temporarily go into the opposing lane of traffic to overtake cyclists? I noticed that the bus driver make any attempt to do this despite there being multiple changes to do so. Is it forbidden to do so by law or just frowned upon?

The road was quite twisty and I don't think there was ever any opportunity to overtake the cyclists and not have the possiblility of another vehicle coming the other way - the bus would have been on the wrong side of the road. It was a 60mph section of road so oncoming traffic would be travelling very quickly. He is a good, professional driver and the cyclists acknowledged his patience when they turned off the main road.

@@stevetaylor8698 Yes absolutely. I didn't mean to criticize the driver's skill! I was simply wondering if he chose to remain behind the cyclist or was following some rules. As someone who cycles as well, I'd very much appreciate a bus driver like this.

Magic highways and byways.

1:37 is a great example of how all non-car transport has been deprioritised for decades in this country. We should all be angry about the current situation. Whether you’re someone like me who loves cycling and public transport, or if you only like buses and never want to ride a bike. Ban private cars, build proper cycling infrastructure away from these types of roads and prioritise buses and coaches.

I like my buses (specifically old though, which is sadly dying) but I’m never one for cycling. In fact, the last time I rode a bike was around 2015/16. But I still see an importance for cars. And there are all sorts of factors. One might work or have family further than town, as I do. The bus links might be poor, as they are in my area, it might be an unreliable or infrequent service, or you might just be a snobby diva and despise the route your local specifically takes, which I guess I’m guilty of. And as for cycling, where I live, we have a lot of dual-carriageways meaning you do have to take a lot of detours, and that can get very annoying easily.

@@leicestertravels4705 Well the only thing I can tell you is the future is going to look very different from your current preference. But it’s going to be better in every way and I think you’ll realise that as we make that transition. It’s pretty hard to like cycling in this country right now because so many places have no car-free places to ride and you always feel like a second class citizen. And as far as cars, I’m much happier since I stopped driving my EV after 4 years. EVs are great but they’re still cars, and they’re still a hassle to own, park, insure etc. We will still have some cars but they will be either shared or self-driving taxis (at some point this decade). You’ll always be able to call the type of car you need for the specific use that day. It will be so much more convenient. And we won’t need car parks any more. Can turn them into green spaces or something else much nicer than the eyesores they are now. I think it’s quite sad that people like you with no imagination at all are the ones in control of our society and are holding us back.
