Just a little tip, highlighter can look very over the top on stage, what I do is that I use lip balm on the places I would usually put highlighter on. Looks more natural and gives you enough of a glow. :)

This is a fantastic tip!! I have a separate one just for this because it has foundation and product all over it, but it looks awesome on stage. I only use highlighter right on the inner corner of my eyes

My studio basically requires ALL Mac products. It definitely adds up. Thanks for sharing!

Honestly I stopped trying to cover it up and got it to go away I recommend exposed, my skin got better in like 3 days !!!! it's real pricey but usually on sale sorry just felt like sharing that 😊

If you invest in high coverage foundation and get a good primer you’ll be able to cover it up well. as spot treatments are helpful as well

My daughter has her first dance recital this week, so glad I found your makeup tutorial. Although I am very familiar with makeup (for myself and I am a cosmetologist) I don't do a lot of it for performances/photos. So thank you for your video!

This is awesome! That is more of a dance style, so if there are any acting peeps in the comments (Whoop Whoop!), there are a few things to keep in mind: Depending on the role you play, you may want more or less eye liner. Use a brown for a more natural or childlike look. If you play a role that you need to look older for, use black. You do not always need to wing it, so ask your director. Be careful with contour. It all depends on your role. Break a leg!!

I'm in color guard and we have to take stage makeup up about 10 notches. like red blush and black eyeshadow so the judges can see from the box

Here’s a tip: If you get to choose what eyeshadow you where, try not to choose any purples or blues. Those colors make you look like you have a black eye on stage.

Im currently in fifth grade and we are doing four plays and me and my friend are part of makeup/hair. This will helps a lot!

Maybelline fit me is the best cheap concealer IMO. I've been acting for nearly 12 years now and this is my favorite concealer for both performance and day-to-day life. If this concealer can last two 2 hour performance under hot lights, in a theater without any A.C., and dancing, AND my evening afterwards, it can last through the apolocalypse.

Our drama team doesn't have everyone do their own makeup, I have to do most of it all in a rush and I'm not even great at it. Thank you for this

The shadow isn't dark enough and you need more shimmer on your eyes. The foundation is meant to be darker than normal. The makeup overall was underdone. And the best lipstick is actually the Mac Lipstick called 'Ruby Woo'.

I recommend you use tape before you do the eyeliner to make it look more sharper and clean (and it’s more easy)

Audrey Ann There is an exception: bellydance (which is what I do). You can start as a teen or in your 20's, or even older if you want to go professional, depending on what direction you want to go. Or you can enjoy being a hobbyist, and still perform.

I watched almost the entire video before realizing that this is for dance stage makeup and not theater stage makeup. Does anyone know if this kind of look would look good for theater? I'm doing my first play on Friday and I've never done stage makeup before. Sweet girl... practice for a few more yrs before you start advising. Just like dance, you’re too young and don’t have enough muscle memory in the technique to teach. Just learn to be happy learning for now. Your brain isn’t even fully developed until mid 20’s.
