Stage 2 Rockford Fosgate Speaker Install & Ride Review + Extras!! | 2024 Harley Davidson Road Glide
Welcome to another episode! Today we're installing the Rockford Fosgate 500 watt amplifier, stage 2 fairing speakers, & optional stage 2 tour pack speakers! This is the OEM upgrade from Harley Davidson so rest assured, you won't have any electrical warranty issues going this route! Very easy install, follow along, save some money on labor and know your bike better!
This upgrade is substantial in my opinion. Just changing the amplifier and fairing speakers nearly DOUBLES the sound output as can be heard in the video. I have had some intricate audio systems on boats and a few of my trucks and can say for a simple oem upgrade option and not having high expectations for bass out of 6.5" speakers- these sound good.
As always, thanks for watching!

@@boardx77 glad you like them!! I think they’re plenty, I don’t know why people say they prefer other options where you have to piggy back amps. After 2 hours I have to turn them down because my ears have had enough lol
Love that this channel keeps growing! You’re so very thorough. Thank you

Thank you for supporting, it’s thanks to all of you!🙌
No doubt the stage 2 sound system is louder then stock...I have a 2020 ultra limited with stock sound system and I can hear my music at 60-70mph no problem!...I wear a full face helmet as well...the big difference....I also wear ear plugs! Cutting out all the high pitch wind noise is a game changer!👍...great install!...thanks for sharing...stay safe out there!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Yay, Jesse, as always nice to see another video from you…🤗. Ride safely…

Thank you for the support as always!🙌🫶
Very informative. Now I'm ready to pull off my fairing when the time comes. I did hertz front and rear speakers. Waiting for the new hertz Amp from volunteer audio. Not a fan of Rockford anything. Thanks for a great video.
When you selected “show info” on the amp you could see the amps software show 1330. The newest software update will show 1380. Ran into many issues with the bike/amp not communicating resulting in no audio. No need to take it to the dealer if you just get two usb c flash drives and download the updates into that. Took maybe 45 minutes including downloading the updates and unzipping them onto the usb. Now I can do all my own updates. Best of all I no longer have amp issues resulting in no sound.

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate you watching!⚡️
I got the stage 2 with saddlebag speakers. I agree. Plenty loud.
I like my Rockford Fosgate audio also , I have no complaints but yes you will definitely need an amp to push them and they will need to be tuned
Very nice! I almost went that direction but Volunteer audio is very very close to releasing their 1000w Amp and AB interface. They have a piggyback bandaid Amp set up available right now but I'm waiting on the 1k. I do really enjoy your videos and appreciate the time you spend on them. Keep them coming!
I did a volunteer audio kenwood amp upgrade and dig it! I’d like to compare mines to the Rockford upgrade

Traded my 2019 with the Kenwood kit for my 24 with stg2 Rockford, and the Kenwood is/has alot better power. Both sound good, but I give it to the Kenwood. Rockford is way better than boom though.
The factory amp is a 200watt 4 channel. The harness that will run the rear speakers ends under the seat. From what I read is you need to add the rear speaker harness and pin it into the factory plug.

I don’t believe that is the case…I had the rear speakers wired in and had no option to program in the rear speakers on channel 3 and channel 4 on infotainment until I had the 500watt in…

@@OffWeekGarage Yeah, I rewatched an old video and it does say that the new amp is required. Odd how crappy the factory 200 amp actually is..
Solid video. What EQ are you finding works the best now?
I like the video thanks for the info, if you want more pick up, open up custom ride mode max out everything and road test.
Sounds good
Hi, do you need to change the amp to only upgrade the front speakers? Would just swapping the speakers already greatly improve sound quality?
Sounded good when ya lifted ur visor🤘does ur seat sit u back farther than stock?

I believe it does probably about an inch!!
Which channel did you install the tourpack speakers into?
Now even after doing the speaker configuration in the bike menu does the amp still need to be “flashed” by the dealer?
@OffWeekGarage

No I did not need to flash it or do anything. Only reason I needed to configure speaker settings was to add in the tour pack speakers
In case you didn't know, Rockford was bought out by an advertising company that has no business in audio. RF is over priced from HD and not that great. Years ago, yes RF was ok, for what you paid, there's better speaker options and amp. However, go with what you think is good.
💚
Harley's version is not really 500w amp. It's more like 250w

@@marcnunes6916 true, almost no amps dyno out to their claimed ratings, like crank horsepower, I’m not a fan of that facade but it is the way of the industry at this point. Audio quality is good and clear though so I’m happy with it!
Dang my stock speakers are so weak I can barely hear music at 50mph

I did the 24-RG volenteer-audio upgrade and can hear my music very well now! I also rock a freedom shield windshield, which helps, but stock speakers are ass even with a windshield.
Did you also update the software? That’s an extra upgrade in sound. More better sound. Greeting from the Netherlands.
Did you have to flash your bike at the dealer after the install?

@@krisbajorski no I did not but I’m hearing some people have had to. Bike will be going in next week for its first updates since I had the February 6th updates done!
With all due respect and I mean all due respect, get that fucking tour pack paint matched.
