As the owner of a 240i with a ton of mods, there's only one way to get accurate power figures - go to a dyno garage that didn't just fit a load of mods for you. Real figures for B58 engines are about 380hp for a stage 1, about 410hp for stage 2 with sports cat and about 425 for stage 2 with TU fuel pump. Aftermarket air intakes also make no real difference - when tested independently. A lot of the increase "feel" of power is the quicker pedal response time

you're probably talking about whp, these places usually add a certain percentage on top to eliminate drivetrain loss which is never accurate that is why if you go to different dynos you'll usually see a difference. They're just trying to give a ballpark figure for the hp at the crank.

@@TheOtherStuff personally I’d get a custom map, I can understand using the mhd cos of how much cheaper it would be and easier and really it’ll be reliable enough cos it’ll have been used plenty of times as you’ve said but when ur going stage two and you’re wanting as much power as u can I’d have thought you’d have wanted to go with a custom one and from a trusted tuner they can be more reliable than a downloaded tune

That’s very high power for just stage 2. I got 459bhp on stage 2 with plus upgraded sparkplugs decat filters charger pipe inlet pipe and hpfp. For sports cat on stage 2 that’s strong

@@TheOtherStuff I used to have m140i but they run near enough same as 240i after mapping. Highest Iv seen on these engines are 475bhp or stage 2plus. Anything more the dyno is off. But still a lot of power tbh. Mines gripped very well tbh felt better than stock. Sometimes felt 4wd. But mine was custom tuned, mhd are more aggressive and not as driveable. But Yh can get it to slide if wanted to, but also gripped depending how you driving and when you changing gears

Hey bro! I actually did have that setting tuned on, I think the valve actuator just gave way with the Stage 1 because it was running so much more power then stock :(

What is it with fogged up windows in morden cars??? Turn the A/C on in that diesel bmw. IT WILL ACT AS A DEHUMIDIFIER. YOU SHOULD USE A/C WITH HEAT all the time.

On what fuel was it on the dyno? Did you have 93/98ron in it and choosen in mhd? Thanks Also turn on better water and intercooler cooling in mhd. And with the valve it does the same to me. The right one is louder that the left on even tho the valve is open. When you disconect the plug it stays open all the time-

Nice 240i love the colour,but low numbers on stage 2,I ain’t got a bmw but got plenty of friends with 140i 240i M3s M4s ect the people i no that’s had a stage 1 have been at 450hp 460/470hp stage 2,& im talking on a proper roller not no shite one that climbs,not pissin on ya chips lad coz this is flying anyway,& it’s not always about chasing numbers,iv got a golf mk6 R fully forged with WMI going to start the run in first week of jan “so in few days” then book in for mapping

For 500+bhp you will need a meth kit lad on the stock turbo. Port meth would be your best bet. Also for your exhaust flap not opening, its a small clip that falls out of the control pin flap. You can get a new clip fitted or have it fully welded open
