Staccato C2 DUO Review | 2011 9mm Pistol

Фильм және анимация

This week we have something special for you from Hunt Fish Shoot! We take the Staccato C2 DUO to the shooting range, and let me tell you it's one of the nicest pistols that we have ever shot! There may not be a nicer carry gun on the market. Stick around and find out!
The Staccato C2 DUO compact 9mm pistol is packed with features it most importantly it is a hand fitted and hand built gun in Texas by formerly STI who is just going by Staccato now. The gun is marketed as a duty, carry rated 2011 pistol and it fits the bill. Fit and finish is superb. The soft case comes with 3 16 round magazines, the Dawson optic plate mounting system for your Trijicon RMR or deltapoint similar footprints. On the gun it has a green fiber optic front and black rear sight with multiple other color sight rods in the case for your choice. At the heart of the accuracy is the hand fitted stainless 3.9” bull barrel and dual recoil guide rod which will allow for tool less take down. Other features include front and rear cocking serrations, ambi safety, awesome grip and undercut trigger. The gun is DLC coated and has a very nice and durable finish. Finally the trigger, you will not find a nicer carry trigger on the market and it’s one of its finest points.
We had a blast shooting this 2011 pistol and are happy to report it will be going into our carry gun rotation. This could also be your new 3 gun competition pistol or your race gun. You would be more than happy with this as your everyday carry (EDC) as long as you don’t mind spending a lot to have a hand built 9mm pistol with superior craftsmanship. It’s not for everyone and certainly not a new shooter with the price tag it sports but it is worth every penny.
Thank you all for following along, we hope you enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed shooting it! Don't forget to hit that subscribe button!!! Drop us a comment, like the video and check us out next time on the Hunt Fish Shoot journey!

These STI/Staccatos have ruined me......All my Gucci-Glocks and other striker fired handguns got sold. I have (5) in total from the C2 up to their race guns. For the money they are phenomenal in my opinion. Great job on the video- Subscribed :)

Thank you for the sub! I agree with this statement. They are truly awesome and they do make all the custom striker guns seem so lack luster. Which is to be expected. I love my C2 and love carrying AIWB with it!

Have 2 c2’s and an XC. For the DUO option a CHPWS mounting plate and the corresponding 10-8 performance front sight make it even better by getting the optic lowering allowing for a lower cowitness so you don’t have too much sight impediment in the optic window. My favorite is to the get a non optic ready c2 and have it cut for a chamber’s custom optic mount with a rear sight forward (This setup is the reason I bought my second c2). And any of the 2011 pistols on the market should have grip work from darkside precision it truly makes it and even better pistol. Enjoy it!

Just got an FN 509 Compact as a carry, and have had my eyes on this C2... Might have to save up because although I have enjoyed the first 500 rounds of the 509, I still can only wonder how amazing this handgun would be to have with my 509 and my P320... Sounds like a great rotation to me! Although won't be too much of a rotation when this is added! Appreciate the review!

You can't go wrong with the 509C. I have on too and Staccato. You're not really missing much. Remember, if you have to rely on a tool to be a better shooter, then it's a training issue. I got the Staccato only because i am into engineering and craftsmanship. It's an awesome platform but the diminishing return is just too low to justify the price when we have Glocks, FNs, etc. If you're into craftsmanship or just bored out of your typical compact guns, then yeah i think this will be a great purchase. Otherwise, i would not recommend it.

I wish they had a 45 acp as that is the caliber I am most confident in but the 9mm and the 40SW are also great. Accurate and exceptionally reliable they fit my big paws really well. So Reddit forums are pretty strict on “spam” especially when you are a newer member, so what happened was: you got a strike against you for not following the requirements which in that case was a title, then you reposted which now looks like spam to the bots because you’ve now posted the same link in such a short period and you got booted. Reddit is a cool place but there are soooo many rules and every page channel has its own rules which can be hard to keep up with some times. Thanks for taking the time to watch our video, and we hope to see you back here soon!

I have shot both of those, frankly they do not belong in the same conversation. The P01 omega is a really nice gun and very great shooter, the C2 is hands down worth the extra money if you can swing it. The Staccato is a semi custom hand fit gun purpose built for carry and duty use. I love my staccato and with a little over 1k rounds and only one malfunction which was magazine related it’s as reliable as they come. There is a lot more data and hard use shooters out there using he C2 or staccato line as well. Hope this clears it up for you. Again the CZ is a great gun but they aren’t remotely alike outside of size.

Not a bad video. But please... please don’t dead-drop the slide anymore. My toes curled every time. I think everyone is so used to striker fired pistols (which this action doesn’t affect) that they either forgot or don’t know that you shouldn’t drop the slide on an empty chamber on a 1911/2011. So much of what you’re paying for is that superb crisp trigger, but slamming the slide on an empty chamber causes sear damage. Quickly.

  • @HuntFishShootChannel

    @HuntFishShootChannel

    3 жыл бұрын

Thanks for watching and appreciate your concern! The dead drop on the slide is actually harmful on the internals of a striker fired gun also, this is due to nothing being there to slow the slide. On the 2011/1911 it’s slightly different but relative to this is also build quality and the components used. It should never been done repeatedly or over and over again. Frankly for me that slide my get dead dropped maybe one or two times a month if that. Most people don’t even know about dropping a slide on an empty chamber does. Again I appreciate your concern, but relative to how many times it’s really going to be done in my usage of striker or browning style actions I’m not concerned. Think of it this way, mostly any gun you use after about 10k you will replacing internals anyway. In my life guns are tools and they will be treated as such and maybe a little more lovin! Finally I have to say it’s part habitual because at the end of a course of fire in 3gun, qualifications and training you have to show clear and drop the slide to reholster.

Really? Haven’t heard that concept before. If you could shed some light on that please, I would love to see where you are coming from! It’s not necessary about letting the reset dictate your trigger pull, but more so knowing when you can shoot again. For instance mechanically the Staccato can be shot faster than a Glock or Sig because the reset is so minimal. Maintaining trigger control and knowing your press is important so you are not inefficiently wasting trigger take up. Your opinion is subjective which is fine because there are a lot of different styles or methods taught. The principles are almost all the same though when you get down to the bare bones. I don’t disagree with you, you don’t pin the trigger to the rear. Knowing the reset is extremely important for getting a good follow up shot. Especially when making shots at a further distance. We may have had some confusion, but I’m very familiar with JJ Racaza. He in fact teaches to reset as soon as you fire, not pull trigger let gun go back into firing position and then ride that reset back out. Do I do that in this video, a few times, you bet your butt I do, but we are talking a gun I have never shot before and I want to know where my reset is. In addition to this I’m trying to demonstrate how short the reset is compared to a striker fired duty gun. There are multiple different shooting disciplines with basics of pistol shooting in them. Im not a competition shooter, I have dabbled in It but it’s not my lifestyle. We are more than likely going to have to agree to disagree, to an extent because I think there is some confusion, whereas if we shot together tomorrow we would have a lot of similarities outside of you being a comp shooter and I am not.

You keep sending that slide home on an empty chamber, that trigger ain't gonna be so nice very long. Staccato is very clear that you shouldn't do that with their guns. FYI.

I use a reduced sized IPSC steel torso target he uses a 3’x3’ steel square. I won’t be taking any lessons from him. I’m also not concerned with a first time shooting it, showing. Takes time on the weapon. Also he is a good shooter, don’t take it that way.

Guys don’t buy the Duo!! You can send the gun off for an optics cut for $300. That saves you $200 to put toward an optic

The DUO offers the ability to mount multiple different optics if you wish, there is a trade off for sure, in addition to this, the system is warrantied by Staccato.

Do you happen to know if milling for an optic will void the staccato warranty? I can’t seem to find the info

Josh, I honestly couldn’t tell you. Staccato has a really good customer service from what I understand and tho I haven’t had to use them I’m sure they would be happy to answer that for you if you reach out to them!

I’ve had several different optics on top my Staccato P duo, plus milling it voids any support from Staccato on the slide. My Duo even came with the Dawson rear sight to slide into the back of the Deltapoint Pro.

@@JMDickeyArts never cared about voiding the warranty. My thinking is if you can afford a $2000 gun then you can afford to get it fixed heaven forbid something breaks. I like having my optic sit low on the gun and you just can’t get that on a staccato without milling.

These are cheap for what you get.

That is correct! Expensive but not for what you are getting

Glocks always struck me a cheap and goofy ghetto blasters. What self respecting man would walk around with a Glock when there are guns like this being made?
