It may have been mentioned already, but the traffic 🚦 light at Tradewinds/Caddy's (St Pete Beach, is at 55th Avenue. Not 55th Ave S (St Pete address). The South Pinellas numerical road names, begin with Pass-a-Grille's,1st Avenue then continued way up to the Redington Beachs, numbered almost to 199th Avenue.. and maybe beyond ? 😀

If you enjoyed using those two buses then we're sure you'll enjoy the Sunrunner, Bob! We have never really been bus-riders either, but the Sunrunner is definitely something we see ourselves riding weekly (if not more), especially while it's free!

That's a really great way to get around the city and I like that they had automatic screens that show you how long the wait actually is. Seems pretty organized! Your lunch on Corey Ave looked delicious. Always a fan of budget options. We would really like the St. Pete Brewing Company - looks like our kind of place.

It really is quite organized, and for people in Florida who are not used to having good public transportation, it's pretty impressive. St. Pete Brewing has recently become one our favorite breweries in downtown St. Pete. Their beers are great and they just added on a live music venue!

Wow! How nice that they are offering such a great service for free for the first 6 months. I would definitely ride! Plus I love that the monitors update in real time. It makes waiting for the bus so much more enjoyable when you are in the loop about when it will arrive. Thanks for sharing!

I took the SunRunner bus in October. It was quick and efficient. Waiting times are short. Best of all, it was free!

The sun runner looks great. As international tourists good wifi on transport is so helpful! Also actually love that it stops at each stop too. Love the partnership deals with local businesses too, there’s so much they could do with that to benefit the sun runner business and other businesses too!

We do hope that after the launch period residents and visitors continue to use the service. There are soo many businesses along the route (or within a few blocks of stops) that can now be easily accessed without a car. Thanks so much for watching guys :)

My next visit next spring I’ll need to try the transit to St Pete from St Pete Beach. Love the area and go every time I visit even if just a day or 2 before coming back to Cincinnati. Love Caddy’s.

Rode the Sunrunner during the first week of opening - so impressed with the service. I stay on the beach so going from there to 22nd to check out the breweries there was a breeze. Having its own dedicated lane on the mainland makes it almost ludicrously fast. Looking forward to trying it out again next time I'm in the area.

It is so nice to not have to drive around looking for a free space to park Downtown..or have to pay. There is a stop right in front of the stadium. We hope you have a good experience when you try it out.

I love taking the trolleys but for my next trip I am actually going to take the central avenue trolley only because I want to check out that area and the pier. You definitely can't beat the cost. Riding any trolley later in the day does increase the wait time. I road the Suncoast trolley and had to wait 45 minutes at John's pass heading back to clearwater. Thanks for sharing

Your experience on the Suncoast trolley around John's Pass sounds similar to ours. Later in the day that route sure can get backed up. Hopefully that won't be the case for the new SunRunner. We hop you have a great time exploring Central Ave and the Pier 😊

*edited* GREAT video of my city. I'm in Gulfport with a concession on St. Pete Beach and when you said Willy's Burgers & Booze possibly being your favorite, I couldn't agree more!! I LOVE Willy's! And I love when you guys cover anything St. Pete Beach. Hey I'd love to see you guys come out for First Friday Art Walk and Third Saturday Indie Faire in Gulfport! I'm an artist/crafter and I'd love to see you cover these events! We'd really appreciate the support, especially with these shop local holiday events. And my favorite hotel on St. Pete Beach is without a doubt the newly renovated Bellwether Beach Resort where, yes, Bongos Beach Bar & Grill is located! Great food, great drinks, nice fun bartenders...wonderful atmosphere at Bongos! Who doesn't love Willy's?! It's so reasonable and such a cool atmosphere! We are so glad that you enjoyed Cafe Soleil. That was one of the very first places we visited in one of our very first travel guide videos, and it was sooo good! We'd love to visit the newly renovated Bellwether. We've been on the property (to visit Bongo's of course) several times, but have yet to stay at the hotel! We made it to Gulfport to visit the Blueberry Patch a couple of months ago, but haven't been to downtown Gulfport for quite a while (probably the last Geckofest). I think we are definitely overdue for a visit!

What a great addition guys - Using any public Transport around any city can be hard for some people and you have displayed how easy and convenient it is by using this Sunrunner bus. Great news that its free for the moment too and a nice way to introduce this new service and get people use to it. Still, the rates seem pretty good after the free period as well and really suited to your guys after having a few drinks ...LOL

Even at $5 per person per day, it really is a bargain and will save you money if you plan on spending more than a couple hours at the beach... not to mention time and hassle. The fact that you can charge your phones and have good wifi along the was is definitely an added perk!

It really was a fund day, and one that would have been more challenging, stressful, and expensive if we tried to do it in our vehicle! Hi guys we are UK subscribers and love your vlogs. Just wanted to thank you for all the info. We have just returned from an 11 night stay at Mad Beach and we checked out loads off stuff that we had seen on your vlogs. We did not hire a car so used the beach trolley and the sun runner both excellent and cheap (free for the sun runner). We visited Sweet Brewnette, John Pass, enjoyed some flights at Cage brewery, Paws, 3 Daughters, Grand Central Brewery, Avid, Mad brewery all of them excellent . We also tried a couple of places that we haven’t seen on a vlog and we think you should check them out…Sweet Sage cafe Redington beach, Seahorse Restuarant Pass-a-Grille, Smugglers Cove golf Mad beach and Conch Republic Grill North Redington beach. We actually have visited Seahorse (in our Pass-A-Grille video) and Conch Republic (in our Redington Beaches video) and we loved them both. We have not yet visited Sweet Sage, but we've consistently heard good things and definitely plan on visiting. Also, we have visited Smuggler's Cove in Indian Shores but have not yet checked out the Madeira Beach one, so we'll have to do that as well! Thank you so much for the suggestions. Sounds like a great plan for your birthday, John! Yeah, the Sunrunner does run in a loop, so you will eventually wind up where you started!

i rode the sunrunner a week after it opened and I would say it’s pretty smooth even though it doesn’t stop at the most important stop on the beach (75th and Gulf Blvd) But of course they prob couldn’t build a station there that’s why overall i liked it and it’s an easy transfer from my local route (4) so I got on at 3rd St and rode the entire route. It was a quick ride and if it makes my commute to the beaches faster I’m all for it. I don’t ride PSTA a lot but I could if I needed to and overall I like the service and hopefully I don’t one and done this route.

This experience was better even though I had a late night trolley ride from John’s pass to 75th then the CAT from there to 4th St and central and then on route 4 back home (i live right next to a stop on that route) making PSTA super convenient for me and more cost effective. I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Thank you so much, Brook. The furthest south the Sunrunner drops off on SPB is the 4700 Gulf Blvd public beach access. So no, unfortunately it doesn't make it all the way down to Pass a Grille Beach. They actually just voted to start charging for the Sunrunner beginning on October 1st... ($2.25 per ride, $5.00 max per day). It seems that keeping it free for too long had some adverse effects.

You would have to connect from the Sunrunner to the Suncoast Trolley in downtown St. Pete Beach and then from the Suncoast Trolley to the Jolley Trolley in Clearwater Beach. Thanks for watching.

Our favorite is probably still the original one on Treasure Island. It's on a beautiful stretch of beach and is right next to one of our other favorite bars Katiki. Unfortunately, the parking there is pretty outrageous.

Hi Michael. For downtown St. Pete parking, most of the areas that are free are limited to 2 hours, but there are many spots that are free for longer on the weekends or in the evenings. We'd recommend checking parkopedia.com. Otherwise, you can find lots of free parking along Central Avenue and the side streets west of I235 in the Grand Central District.

We agree, we have been very excited for the SunRunner to launch. It is my understanding that the PSTA would like to add more SunRunner routes in the future but no expansions have been funded (at this point). We hope you get to come back and try it out!

Except it really isn't. 1st Ave N & S used to be the quickest and most efficient East-West routes in the county and now they're gummed up with this. Meanwhile, nobody uses Central as an East-West route and there are a ton of businesses who would directly benefit if they had put this there. There are literally no businesses on 1st Ave N & S once you get out of downtown, but there are dozens and dozens of them on Central.

I'm from Tampa. Where would be a good place to park?

I know they are advertised as being hybrid electric, but we have no idea about what kind of mpg of gas they get or what portion of the power is coming from electricity versus gasoline. Would certainly be interesting to know!

@@Explorcation unfortunately that’s a bit of a Cop-out in your location. There is no reason for any public transport to not be fully electric in 2022. It’s worrying that they spent your neomycin on this. Please write to your local official and explain that EV is the way to go. Save your self coke money and all your community

I'm anti sun runner. I mean its convient for passengers but it is super inconvenient in the terms of commuting to and from work being that it takes up 2 full lanes. Which is ridiculous. I hope they get rid of them being that they are actually not that popular being that not too many people ride it.

It seems that most of the people who are anti-Sunrunner have never ridden it (and don't plan to). We 100% understand why those people would be opposed to it, especially if it slows down their commute along the Sunrunner line. That being said, we've seen the buses be quite busy and have spoken with a lot of people who love the Sunrunner, so we don't think it's going away anytime soon. The majority of the project (75%) was covered by a Federal Grant (50%) and the Florida DOT (25%). But we will gladly thank St. Pete tax payers (of which we are two of them) for their contribution to the remainder of the funding!

@@vjhreeves peoples' opinion of the Sunrunner will certainly depend on whether or not they actually utilize the service. That said, we can certainly understand how those who commute along the Sunrunner line but don't plan on actually riding the Sunrunner would not be fans of it.

But thanks for putting your lie into writing. So let's review what happened here, and will happen: 1/ Gov't gives you money 2/ You produce a propaganda piece because they gave you money 3/ You censor comments critical of what you did. 4/ PSTA and Explorcation receive a 42 USC §1983 (look it up) lawsuit.

At the beginning of the video there should be a notification that says "includes paid promotion". We also noted within the video itself and in the video description that the video was sponsored by the PSTA, meaning yes we were paid to make this video.

As the owners of this channel, we have not deleted/censored any of your comments on this video. As we still don't know what comment you are referring to, it's hard to say as to why it has been deleted. KZread can chose to delete comments, and other users can also report comments they find to be inappropriate. Regarding the rest of your comment, yes, the PSTA did sponsor this video. We clearly stated this within the video and never made any attempts to hide that fact. That said, the video was still an accurate representation of our experience on the Sunrunner. As we've replied to others who have made comments critical of the Sunrunner, we completely understand why some people are opposed to it.

To be clear, they are not requiring anyone to where a mask. It's 100% voluntary. I'm not sure we understand why someone else deciding to wear a mask have any bearing on your decision to ride the Sunrunner.

OWN LANE TO DRIVE IN iswhy people despise politicians . Its an absolute disgrace to take a lane away from the population and to dedicate it to a lefties transportaton project

I just drive to St. Pete beach. Folks it is not a long drive. The bus seems like a hassle and the own drive in lanes is a pain for work...commuters. The sun runner is a waste of tax payers money. I live here..

We live here too, and we understand that not everyone benefits form the Sunrunner. If we were primarily visiting the beach during the week (when finding parking is generally not an issue) and we weren't planning on staying long (and not wracking up a big parking bill), then we would probably drive as well. But for us and many others we've talked to, the Sunrunner is a great benefit. Whether it's a great service or a "waste of tax payers money" all depends on who you ask.

We love the Free Beach Ride. You guys have bailed us out a couple of times when the suncoast trolley was caught up in traffic!
