This is a great video on Baptism as a Sacrament in the Church. Great overview of the Sacrament as well as an integration of the historical and pastoral aspects of the Sacrament. As a priest, I am definitely using this video in my Baptism class. I have been looking for a current Baptism video in HD, and I have found it! Thank you Msgr. Rossi and St. Michael's Church. The Galleria rocks!

Very nice! Raised my kids this way and they are good Christians. There is nothing wrong with the seven sacraments. Certainly better than these false prophets who open up web pages, ask for money, sin and use God's name to line their pockets. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

Good thing the Catholic Church isn't interested in money. We take our faith very seriously because our church was founded by Christ himself.

The Catholic church is straight up wrong. They practice idolatry in which is first is wrong. Second they pray to saints, images, staues all that goes against the first commandment. I pray you open your eyes and see what God really left in his scriptures. Prepare your ground because the rain is coming. God bless!

Father, thank you for this video. I teach CCD Grade 5 at my parish. Our topic this week is Baptism. Since my kids and I were all newborns when we were baptized and hence don't remember receiving this Sacrament, I plan to show this video to my class. While our textbook (Finding God from Loyola Press) does an excellent job explaining the Sacrament, a visual guide like this will will bring the Sacrament to life. Thank you!

The Catholic Church did not change the Ten Commandments if you really look. The doctrines are based on scripture although it includes sacred traditions which come from the Apostles. One of these so called sacred traditions is the Holy Bible the contents of which was decided by the Catholic Church, and the early church being Catholic, the New Testament therefore was written by Catholics. The point is we were the first Christians and just because we stick to the old way and Protestants interpret scripture differently does not mean we are wrong. It simply means scripture can be interpreted in different ways. Can't debate on theology but I know a bit of history. May God bless us all.

I guess you mean Hebrews right? You did not say much but let me try anyway. The common objection is about Hebrews 10:10 and 10:14 but if you read through it you will see it refers to animal sacrifices of lambs and goats that do not or cannot forgive sins. Compared to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross where 'we are sanctified once and for all' and ' by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.' It is does not however mean all sins will be forgiven 'once and for all' it simply means due to Christ's sacrifice, when we fall into sin, we can or will be forgiven when we repent. Peace.

I think most objections are regarding the Mass. In the same way the term 'once and for all' and 'for all time' in Hebrews 10 cannot be used to imply the Mass is a re-crucifiction which the Catholic Church does not teach. In fact it is by Jesus' command that it is celebrated for the forgiveness of sins' according to Matthew 26:26-28. The Mass simply reaffirms Christ's sacrifice on the cross' power over sin unlike the old animal sacrifices. Peace.

Babies only have the stain of original sin which is washed away during baptism. They do not have actual sins that need repentance which adults need to do to be baptized. In both cases sins are forgiven or washed away. Totally according to scripture.God bless you.

Duke - SWT Mate : You can go to Romans 3:23 'All have sinned and fallen short of the kingdom of God' or Romans 5:18 'Therefore just as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all.' I guess you may be right babies sin but they don't know it. But one condition for an act to be considered as sin is that it is done with full knowledge and consent of the will and babies do not have this ability as yet so it may not be fall under the category. The stain of original sin is not exactly 'sin' , it is a state where the soul is devoid of the grace of God which was lost due to Adam and Eve's disobedience which is passed on to all of us at birth. This is restored to us at baptism. I hope this helps. Peace.

In Acts, Cornelius's entire family and the jailer's entire family was baptized too. Back then, the family unit was treated as a patriarchy and when the family leader was baptized, so was everyone else including infants. The Catholic Church baptizes infants because they have been doing so since the time occurring in the book of Acts. It's how you are born again. Therefore infant baptism is in scripture.

Before you accuse Catholics of doing things incorrectly, try interpreting the Bible correctly and thinking about how things were back during the time of the apostles.

Is it me or does anyone else get a kick out of Protestants that claim they are right/the only way? When Jesus prayed right before the last supper he prayed that after he left the apostles would further his church in this world. He prays it be united, one and universal. Now taking that into consideration, you tell me what fits the bill better? Protestantism - which today now has over 35,000 different denominations and only dates back to the 15th century. Catholicism - which has remained the same and constant and was present 2000 years ago. You tell me....

Duke - SWT Mate Yet in the Bible, babies are presented in the temple (including Jesus.) It was an approved part of Judaism, of which Catholicism is a fulfillment. Jesus sanctified baptism when He received it, and all Catholic priests and deacons can baptize since they have authority passed down to them all the way back to Peter, who Jesus Himself called the rock of HIS CHURCH. The Catholic Church is true.

Constant? I'm sorry but the Catholic Church today was NOT the same as it was during let's say, Martin Luther's time. The Catholic Church today is much better at following what the Lord wants. ❤ Just my opinion.

Sean Whitaker show us anywhere in scripture where babies were baptized? And show us anywhere in SCIRPTURE, where people (not babies) (because babies are NOT in there) were baptized in the quote, “name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”. You won’t find either. Why? Because all throughout the book of Acts, the Apostles, who Catholics claim to be practicing as them, baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus ONLY.

Thank you very much for this video! It is pleasent to watch it. Only it is sad for me that the people in the ceremony have uncovered arms and I find it disrespectful. I really think that, as Catholics, we need get dressed ourselves in the modest way, especially in the Church because it reflects our respect for Christ, for the place and ceremony.
