How is it that no one has commented on, or liked, this video?!? Leslie Howard is a force of nature. His 99-CD Liszt set is the pride of my collection and a constant source of discovery and inspiration. His playing in this video is, as always, delightful, and his lucid analyses a treat. Thanks to St. Mary's for hosting this - you guys "rock"!

For many of us, Leslie Howard is the only interpretation of Liszt.

What an absolute joy to see the Grosses Konzertsolo performed. Its neglect is a total mystery, especially considering the avalanche of recordings of its cousin, the B minor sonata.

Dear Mike - very nice to hear from you again ! I will never forget your impersonation of a rheumatologist in the Xmas show ! Happy days indeed. I haven't done anything remotely medical since 2006 - and haven't missed it . Best wishes.
