Ludlow (@lp:IPA/English) is a @rket_town and @vil_parish in @ropshire_(district), England. It is located 28 miles (45 km) south of @rewsbury and 23 miles (37 km) north of @reford, on the @9_road_(Great_Britain) which bypasses the town. The town is near the confluence of the rivers @ver_Corve and @ver_Teme.
The oldest part is the @dieval @fensive_wall, founded in the late 11th century after the @rman_Conquest. It is centred on a small hill which lies on the eastern bank of a bend of the River Teme. Situated on this hill are @dlow_Castle and the parish church, @_Laurence%27s_Church,_Ludlow, the largest in the county.@dlow From there the streets slope downward to the rivers @ver_Corve and @ver_Teme, to the north and south respectively. The town is in a sheltered spot beneath @rtimer_Forest and the @ee_Hills, which are clearly visible from the town.@dlow
Ludlow has nearly 500 @sted_building,@dlow including examples of medieval and @dor_architecture-style @lf-timbered buildings. The town was described by Sir @hn_Betjeman as "probably the loveliest town in England".@dlow
