I absolutely love St Kitts and Nevis. For anyone who visits I'd suggest the best part of your trip would be hanging out with the locals. Despite some extreme poverty they endure they are the most happy and lovely people you'll ever get to know. Unforgettable!

Extreme poverty? Our country has a very high standard of living and most of us Kittitians live well above the poverty line. Please don’t spread this false narrative 🫠

@@iamQuiandra I've seen both sides of the spectrum. There is lavish wealth and there is indeed extreme poverty. I can expand in detail describing it further if you have never left your home and ventured to meet how the other half lives there. What is your purpose in trying to whitewash the truth?

@@piedpiper7051 I don’t live “lavishly” nor am I trying to whitewash “the truth”. I was born and raised (and still lived up until I left for uni last month) in a small village on the island and have experienced all that it has to offer - good and bad. I don’t need an obvious outsider to give me any “details”. Are there people who are less fortunate? Of course….as with any other nation on Earth. I’m just sick and tired of people trying to paint the Caribbean as this destitute place where the people live in huts and eat coconuts all day. The same is done with Africa (as if it’s one country and not a whole continent filled with both rich and poor people). “Extreme poverty” was an extreme stretch and you know it.

@@iamQuiandra I have personally witnessed and spent time with the people who live there in extreme poverty. Their houses are huts fashioned from whatever thrown away materials they can find, corrugated metal, boards, junk and the floors are dirt. The children are shoeless and little 5 year old girls have breasts because their only steady meat is hormone laden chicken. I could go on... On the political spectrum the corruption runs deep. The police force is brutal. That is a whole different story. But you missed the point entirely. Unlike in many nations where poverty breeds deep despair and crime, in St. Kitts, the impoverished are the happiest people one could ever hope to meet. And the working poor are absolutely lovely when you spend the time to get to know them and give them the respect they deserve. I made wonderful friends. I've truly experienced life on St. Kitts from rich and poor, historic and political...multiple angles. Much more than I have gone into here. All that said, my point is, the island is diverse and beautiful with a long rich heritage of defeat and triumph. I had the time of my life. There is no need to hide any of its truth. I would encourage anyone looking for a fantastic experience to head to St. Kitts and dive head first into everything the island offers, leave the resort a few times and drink in all the glory. It will enrich your world much more than a massage and pedicure will...and will last a lifetime.
