St Joseph Peninsula, Indian Pass Raw Bar

On our last day in the Port St. Joe area we visited the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park Located on Cape San Blas. This is a beautiful Florida State Park that offers miles of pristine white sand beaches with very little traffic and congestion when compared to other popular beach destinations. It has both a bay side and guf side to enjoy and they even offer pontoon boat rentals. The road is still in repair from hurricane Michael so only way to see the entire park is to hike or take a boat. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return again for that pontoon boat ride!
That evening we visited the world famous Indian Pass Raw Bar for self serve beer and fresh local harvested oysters from the Indian Lagoon. This place was great! Cool atmosphere, delicious seafood and they even had love music playing outside. Definitely a great time we had!!

You two need to get up to Maine...Bar Harbor...Trent Bridge Lobster Pound. At least 15 years ago it was just AMAZING. 5lbs worth of lobster, pound or so of steamers, 2 slices of blueberry pie, and a couple beers...$60...BEST Lobster I have EVER EVER had...it came out of the ocean literally 2 hours earlier, and we picked the lobster we wanted. OH SO FREAKING GOOD. I'm sure the prices are higher, but yea...get up to main and go to a Pound...WORTH IT!

There is a hidden place there called the old Boy Scout camp. We used to go squirrel hunting there in the old growth oak hammock. I'm sure the State of Florida no longer allow public access like many other cool places they control.

Probably another year before you can go to the point. Only place to launch a boat on the Cape. You definitely need a good GPS in the bay if you don’t know the water.

The FWC closed Indian Lagoon to oyster harvesting a few years ago after the collapse of Apalachicola Bay following the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe. The wild Gulf oysters the IPRB serves are most likely harvested in Louisiana, and infrequently from Texas. The Texas oysters are better quality.

Keys don't really have much beach front...you need a boat if you want to actually enjoy it.
