God hasn’t answered my prayer yet. I’ve been waiting for 3 years now. Maybe longer. So appropriate you’d mention St. Francis of Assisi as one of my favorite prayer in song by a friar is “Make me an instrument of your peace”. Thank you Matthew for the fantastic book on the Lives of the Saints. God bless you.

@@lynne0528 So right, Lynne. God doesn't always give us what we want, but rather, He gives us what we need.

For some, and actually far too many, the thought of being alone or to mediate in prayer is frightening. The world today discourages people from solitude, but instead provides multiple and 24/7 distractions to keep us from hearing God's voice. When you live alone, you learn that the hardest person to live with......is yourself. Some get it, others don't.

One thing my husband and I do is wear our crucifix necklaces with a miraculous medal outside of our shirts, so everyone sees them. We all need to be representing what a good, faithful Catholic is. We need to defend what true Catholicism is; not the kind we see in government and elsewhere. As Jesus said, "If you deny me, I will deny you to my Father". (I know that isn't the exact verse, but it get's to the heart of it). +JMJ+
