St Edward's Catholic Church

St Edward's Catholic Church. Going northeast from the bandshell lies St. Edward's Catholic Church, designed in 1921 by local architect Ernest H. Gates for $60,000. One of the best examples of the Renaissance revival style in our State, it is distinguished by its two 75-foot bell towers, brick exterior with terra cotta embellishments, and scagliola (imitation marble or other stone, made of plaster mixed with glue and dyes which is then painted or polished) ornamented interior.
