i always thought it was crazy how the 98-02 cars had that TINY opening under the air filter to supply all the air. Definitely gonna get a SSRA for my car eventually

Yeah it seems like a nice mod.We will see this spring what it is worth.

Just installed one of these and it’s good for prob around 10 hp. It’s the best at higher speeds, so it’ll help with a 60 roll. Love the channel!!

I thought about the jaws version but just stuck with the regular SSRA. I had the car out a few weeks ago when the weather was better and I can tell you the induction noise is louder than just an SLP lid. Purchased a draggy to test it. It will be easy to block off the SSRA intake and just run the car like an SLP lid and hood scoop. Looking forward to your review. Nice video

Thanks.I only went with the Jaws version because of my ground effects.They drop down about an inch further than the stock bumper.I am looking forward to testing it out to see if it helps.Also looking forward to seeing which intake set up works best between the Volant and the SLP lid.

When I installed mine I felt a significant difference on the top end, especially in the colder months. Mine is ran with SLP lid, with the SS opening sealed.

Nice install, curious about the results as well. I'd imagine swapping from the volant to a lid would drop the intake air temps

I too am curious.I will test the Volant and the SLP lid against one another.I will try and do it the same day so outside temps are the same.Doesnt take long to swap them.

@@LSxMotorsports2021 read alot of negatives on the forums about the k+n fipk getting heat soak at idle that's why I swapped back to the slp

Yeah I think the lid setup is probably the best.If the SLP lid matches or exceeds the Volant I will be sticking with the SLP.As far as IATs go I sealed up the Volant so it stays cool.And the bottom was cut out so it works with the ram air scoop.

I had one on my TA. I felt a slight difference in top end

Haha I never noticed I guess.The garage is less than a year old maybe that's why.

I ran the ssra I’m not sure there was much of a gain. I took it off because my a/c didn’t work properly with it in place.

Well I haven't had a chance to run the 1/4 mile yet but new video today running 0-60 and while I didn't expect any gains in this test I didn't get any either.I haven't tried the AC yet.So you could be right.In theory it should help but I will be testing this summer.Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.

Hopefully u gain cuz i feel like the camaros are hella restricted with air flow

Yeah I am itching to find out if it helps.But unfortunately it will be at least another month before I can get the car out.Still alot of snow here.

So you had the under lid ram air setup with a Volent? That may be the silliest thing I’ve seen on a fbody ever

I actually had a hole in the bottom of the Volant's air box so the ram air was pushing air into the box which was completely sealed to the hood.I have since added the SLP lid setup.But there was no gain in performance adding the lid.I actually believe the Volant setup was better but at some point this coming summer I will do a back to back test to see if one out performs the other.

@@LSxMotorsports2021 I’m glad to see you went back to a lid setup. The volent really only works if you have a firebird because even the none ws6 has holes in the nose
