What a great sailing video this was Thank you Capitan
Much better, great video!!
Thanks Rick for fun video; you made my Monday. John The Limo Driver from Kansas city
Nice. I saw my Boat there in Jolly Harbour right near the dinghy Dock. I was there 5 days later to pick it up and sail it home. Too Cool to see it on your video.
Thanks Rick.
Great video Rick esp as you inspired me to do Com Crew which I did out of Jolly Harbour in June this year! Lovely to see you there.
Great video keep them coming and thank you for sharing your years of experience this is the only blog that teaches you the real art of sailing your son should be very proud of you. Mike
Hey Rick...This is brilliant content !!! When you describe "the details" of sailing among the islands for us...it's VERY appreciated !!! Those of us that are planning to go sailing, love this stuff !!! Cheers from Windsor Ont !!! (a balmy 52'F today !!!)
Rick, You are the Master of the Caribbean , always very informative with so much great info.. and it's to bad about that other island that is like a ... Strip Club... yes they make you feel nice and warm and fuzzy ... until you run out of money and I am glad you did not play ... Strip your Dollars ... and left.. and when I am down there in my boat .. I will not bother stopping and leaving any of my money there either... I say let them dry up and float away... Robert
Sounds like a few sad goodbye's before some new exciting hello's. Great video Rick.
Another awesome video. Thanks Rick and Brenden..
Rick that was a vary educational video about the winds of the different Island its something everyone should know, Once again Thank You
Great video
Great vid Rick.....thanks for reports...i will be taking these places off my bucket list.
Great video love the little explanations like the wind coming off the islands.
Thank you again for a great video.
Nice sailing.
you really do a great job of making us feel like we are there. cant wait for more
Great job on this video Rick and Brenden. You recreate the ambiance of what its like sailing the oceans and you freely share a wealth of information about what different scenarios require from the Captains point of view during a sailing. You offer advice about the nuisances of the different anchorages both pro and con which is invaluable. The backdrop of the beauty of the Caribbean is the icing on the cake. Now I will sip on my Bailey's and Coffee and enjoy watching this sailing again and remember my own time on SSL sailing with the Moore family. Cheers Mates, Orlando Rick

Thanks Rick, and enjoy that coffee and Baileys! :)
A quick tip to help out with the monitor flutter with out of sync shutter speeds. Copy the segment in the timeline and move it up one track. Then tap it over one frame. Leave both tracks visible and Bob's your Uncle. Cheers.
Luv those mirror blue sunglasses! They show us what you are seeing only in mirror blue!
great video guys cheers

Men I'm so glad I found your channel. You're living a dream and I really enjoy listening your video. I was planning doing the same but you know, just need more guts. Gonna try to find your first video to see how you manage to start your adventure and see if that still possible in 2018 LOL. Take care men.
I am Vircarous looking through your eyes.....I ABSOLUTE love ❤❤❤ the videos. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Lashawn! :)
To the Captain’s son. Dude you have a cool Dad.
outstanding
When sailing between Isles de Saints and Guadalupe I had the experience of meeting another yacht head on and we were both on starboard tack beam reaches!!! The rules of the road don’t allow for that! We literally came up to each other with 180 degree opposite winds. We could also see the water being tossed in to the air where two sets of waves moving in opposite directions and meeting up. Your video brings back lots of memory of the area. I can’t believe that was your first visit to Antigua after all those years in the Caribbean.
So glad you never did actually quit.

Yes another great Vlog and great information ! Thank you so much Rick ! Do you have any one coming aboard anytime soon ? I wish you well my friend and have some fun . Life is good !
I can feel it i can smell it thank to you are my favorit captain love your life you get best of it up there mate cheers...
You get plastered with Squalls like that going from California to Hawaii.
Lots of talk about helping out with hurricane recovery.
I agree after seeing what the US has gone through in the past with Hurricanes I can not only wonder what can we do but what will the banks do now that your house is gone? Will the banks forgive your mortgage? Will you be paying for just the land until you can get a loan to build a new home? Will the insurance pay for your lose? Is it time to write it off and file for bankruptcy? In 2008 my wife and I lost everything and almost my life because of Diabetes. That felt like a Hurricane only we got to save our furniture and car, everything else was gone. Now we find ourselves unable to start over due to the Medicare Gap and the price of medication I am forced to take every day. Another thing we didn't lose was our Family and Faith in God! Thanks for the video Rick!
lt's me again...Thanks..!
I don't blame you one damn bed Rick the heck with paying all that extra money I'd live on the hook all year long and I have not one bit of problem with it so keep on doing what you doing and you'll be fine
The video footage is terrific as usual! What a shame that things have changed so much on some of your favourite islands, and having to pay more for services.
What a great and informative video. Thanks for all the extra detail. Looking forward to seeing more of Antigua. Hope wherever you're at now you have a great day.

Thanks Randy, have a great weekend! :)
At the current rate of new sailing KZread channels and my firsthand experience in Florida, there will be no anchorage nor mooring balls for anyone. Like the new “sailors” that lasted 2 days then wanted a go fund me. “ Hey we can do that”.... nice vid cap’n
AH! There's the old dingy..........!
Cruising = If you don't like your neighbors , can always move . Great vid. I notice u dont have a foam luff on the genoa , whats your view on those , better sail shape & less strain on pressure points, flatter sail for heavy wind .
Your In depth knowledge of winds in relation to geography, the lack must have realy screwed up early explorerers.
Nice video Rick. I am thinking about getting a job on a sailing charter boat. Do you know of any good charter companies to work for in the Caribbean. Also I love watching your videos. Keep up the good work and hope you have a great day
Rick since you're from Canada you should have fishing poles out right now to catch yourself some dinner
In Hawaiian, 'Auhele', to go in no direction or destination ' Aloha!, Billy, Makawao, Maui
have you looked at "Skyroam Solis" ?
Didn't You stock up beverages and supplies in cheaper Frenchies Supermarchet!?😊🍍
Hey Rick what were they charging for a mooring ball ??? I guess we will bypass this place

I have one, it sucks, it didn't work there either, and works very poorly at the other islands where everything else works fine... it will be reviewed in one of my Tech Time videos about internet access
That would be May 19th. It’s in the detail.
What is your next destination ?
20km long range wifi using a satellite dish and wifi receiver

Have a long range antenna already, but doesn't help if nobody is transmitting, and the only ones that are are locked.. :(
Hey Rick, fun fact,...Antigua has 365 beaches, one for each day of the year.

just like Dominica has 365 rivers... they used to brag about that... they don't anymore! 😮

I'm sure I told you before, that I lived in St. Lucia. When those rivers overflow, they really OVERFLOW! I've witness the power in person. The force of the water rushing down those massive mountains, really give the rivers power. Dominica and St. Lucia are two of the most beautiful Caribbean islands though. Thanks for the reply. Safe travels Captain.
Say Captain, you are a walking Encyclopedia of knowledge of weather and such! So glad you're out of the French Isles ~ I don't like the French, they eat snails! 😵 Geez! Ach tewwe! Anyway, happy you made it to a safe port 😊
The Island of Hispaniola, Haiti (French) kept poor for decades repaying debt to France, while Dominican Republic (Spanish) was allowed freedom to grow. It clearly is an example of the French money grabbing mentioned.
Glad you went from mankind to humans, not people kind haha, mankind works! anyways ya seems the closer you get to “paradise” the more natural disasters we encounter.

Wow, really sucks that you can't just drop anchor without paying! It's getting insane with everyone wanting money and as much money as they can even if it causes people to starve and be broke all the time. If I was producing perishable items such as food I'd make the politicians pay 3-4 times more than the normal citizens. I am beginning to hate what this world is coming too! Every time I get a little extra money someone wants to take it away from me!
Five months ago buuut, hey. What's Going on with the Frogs Islands? Methinks pressure from the Frech Parliament Streight out of Brussels and the EU Parliament, Trying to Gnerate "Funds" Hey , gota Pay for those peaceful "Immigrants" Somehow. Oh, Not sure if it'd be good for You. Another KZreadr, nomadic Fanatic bought a Signal Booster for his RV and has had Good Results getting Signal and Better Signals in Remote Locations, just a thought. F.W.F.S. Hint sounds like it's time for you to head for the Phillipines "_
