The all new Ssangyong Korando has come to Ireland and Bob took it for a drive in Wicklow. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Good review as always.
Since you like such weather, you need to move to Los Angeles. I lived in Pasadena. Half an hour north, I was in the mountains and wearing a sweater. Half an hour east, I was in Zuma Beach, climbing on the rocks and watching the sun set on the Pacific.
i test drove one of these and was amazed but i think the value will drop like a lead balloon what do you think Bob
When will you do a detail test of the Mazda 6 .
Correct, Italian designer
Is this just a badge-engineered Opel Mokka/Buick Encore? It looks remarkably similar.
Yes the Duster is cheaper but the Korando is better in just about every way. Anyway the Duster is "Budget" brand and the Korando isn't.
firstly because most models of it come with the brilliant Nissan connect system and secondly because it has a nicer interior, despite being much older, seriously doubt there were no "hard plastics" to be found in the SsangYong.
I have to ask because you seem to understand cars, why would you go for the Kumquat?
There's much more to these kind of cars than over sized hatchback, you also get a lot more kit in this car than you do in a standard hatch
Some still are
How does this compare to the Duster? Isn't that even cheaper?
But i think nissan will be bringing a new version of the quasqhai soon, 2014? Maybe? Or?
You have a point there but you are paying for that in the price, for 25 grand you could get a highly kitted out Golf or Focus which we both know are fantastic cars
Can definitely see the south Korean influence. Dash display isnt a kick off the ass from the i40. Lovely car indeed. Koreans really are going so far so fast right now.
Just to make a subtle point here, Ssang Yong is no longer Korean, it is now owned by Mahindra. So can we still call the cars "Korean"?....
Isn't every car on the market some variant of another car?
Soon, so many cars to get though there's a bit of a backlog
Ssangyong have a lot to make up for after that disastrous looking Rodius (aka the Hideous) from the mid noughties. Seriously, the back of that looked like an extension that should have never been granted planning permission. That said you only have to look at the likes of Kia and Hyundai to see that improvements can be made. Looking at this, eh, I'd still go for the Nissan Kumquat as it was referred as on the latest Top Gear if that was the type of car I was in the market for.
The Korando has been available here in Chile for a few years now but I still feel people don't trust this brand too much. Despite being Korean, I get the feeling people don't see it as good as Hyundai or Kia. Does the same happen in Ireland?
The new one won't be wildly different than the current one, Nissan would be too afraid to put off the current owners
Bob you make me sad, you know that Italian cars arent badly built anymore :P
Ssangyong used to build really ugly cars but this new one looks nice.
€25,000 for an oversized Hatchback? I'd rather save my money and buy a hatchback tbh
Some still are
