This video has been around for many years now and it has benefited a lot, thanks to god for allowing me to make this. But there are even more people who found one of my statements, "women are not allowed to recite" to but pseudo orthodox and not appropriate. Even though you can or will at your interest, many of them took on me personally, it doesn't matter. I have to stand by my point else I cannot be a guide. Women before puberty and after meno pause are always eligible for all Hinduism related spiritual rituals. During the period of mensuration for about 35 years or so, their body goes through a serious cycle of changes which is forbearing a good generation. The subtle body or prana goes through a similar shift of current thereby not allowing their favours of spiritual chants of cosmic mantras especially that of Sri Rudram to be recited since it causes serious vibration through the spine, where the prana largely acts. Therefore owing to it's subtle nature women were once forbidden and also men had to travel to places for Brohidam and therefore they were allowed to recite whilst women were protector, I repeater "Protector" of houses which is by far more worth than mere money making spiritual recitation and for a long time their participation in vedas was cut off. Swami Vivekananda has himself told that anyone can recite Upanishad or Gita since it has highest context of values compared to Vedas. The actually spiritual journey starts at Vedanta, which end of Vedas and that is Upanishad. I never said women shouldn't recite hymns from other songs or Upanishad. But looks like we Indians want to stand up to create chaos for a small word and let go off a large asset of information. I have made my point and as you see, I am no one to stop you from doing it. It was just my assertion as mentioned by great sages ahead of our times. "Yatha Ichasi Thatha Kuru."

@@MrJanrag Actually we have to chant entire Rudram, As you asked for the above mentioned reasons myself is suggesting you to chant from 2nd to 4th Anuvakkam in Namakam for attaining benefits. As Parameshvar/Almighty God divided himself in to 11 Rudras You have to chant the above 3 Anuvakkams from Namakam 11times or 121 times or 1331times depends upon your comfort. Don't expect result in first day itself. You will see the benefits once you cross 40 or 48 days forsure. And the most important factor is focus on Parameshvar while reciting. Hope I helped.

I love listening to Rudram. I feel it is the most beautiful sound in the universe. I never felt like chanting it, but always loved listening to the chant. Could you kindly make a video on why certain mantras are deemed incompatible with women? There is a lot of confusion running around all over in this regard. I am a gal and I have never felt like chanting Rudram, but always strongly attracted towards listening the chant. Could you please elaborate on mantras and women? We always hear, she must not do this, she must not do that etc. But no one ever gives a clear explanation regarding this. As humans we all have the curiosity to know the reasons behind the dos and don'ts. And when we have a clear reason it is easier to act accordingly. Sometimes I just feel so sad that no one ever gives a clear reason or true explanation on this. Thank u for sharing your knowledge.

+ajith kn All mantras are nothing but creating of vibrations in your surroundings. Vedas have remarkable ability to influence your surroundings and hence it has to be said loud. Telling in mind is ok, but thinking and understanding the recitation in mind and saying it loud is even more powerful. In Tamil, in Sivapuram it said, "Solliya paatin porul unarndhu solluvar." It means, you must understanding the meaning of the song and then tell it, which is actually the best thing to do. Good luck!

Im sorry if it hurt you but this is extremely crucial.Pronunciation of vedam has to be accurate. This discipline is important to preserve the potency of the mantras.God is not gonna give u a trophy if I praise your work - but if you correct the wrong in it,it benefits others.I prefer the latter. Even I get corrected many times and I appreciate that.Even simply things like pronouncing 'sadyojaaTam' and not ' sadyojaaDam' . I don't understand what's so wrong in pointing out an error. It 's not that you created the lyrics. Vedas are timeless and in no way have I found fault in you. Just an error that ought to be corrected to the approximate standard.

I am just confused whether to continue listening sri rudram or to learn chanting was it because of its vibration I got protected or saved from that accident. regularly I am reciting lalitha sahasarnama in the evenings which I learned from my Sri vidyaguru. is a guru necessary to lear sri rudram as well or just we can chant it,

Hello. There is no need to fear about Sri Rudram. Its a powerful vibrations for body, mind and soul. It is also mrityumjayam and can one of many reasons that guarded you while accident. Dont fear about listening or reading Rudram. If you are good in Sanskrit you can always read it otherwise listening is more than enough. Lalitha Sahasranama is highly recommend for women. Good to know you learnt it! No guru is needed for Sri Rudram as I learnt from Dakshinamurthy himself just by praying to him. Take care!

Just came across this..good explanation EXCEPT the women part. Sathya sai baba says ANYONE can chant. The Vedas are universal and for all.

Yes true.. No part of the vedas denies women from chanting... Women should chant actually.. The theory that female body is unfit to contain the vibrations is utter bullshit.

I wonder if he has told women can chant vedas? You can chant many ashtotras, hymns and songs in sanskrit but vedas are made of crest and trough, which rise and fall from nabhi, and female body or chakras cant handle that vibrations since vedas are all about cosmic vibrations.. but yes, if a man chants mantras and vedas in home all the energy is sent to the women in the family..

No one degraded your channel sir.You are doing a great job.The bs remark was for the theory - which has plainly no reference. Made up things , though believed , remains superstition.. Many women had been chanting vedas and even high levelled mantras like sri rudram and are perfectly in balance - negating the effects ought to be produced if they are some weak gender unable to resist heat or alignments in their chakras.Naren Pillai

Working it up your way. Women have been house makers ever since old bhramic days. The men who went out for purohitam or pandits whom you call were reciting vedas, so it is not surprising that the men in the family were vedic upasahars and women were house makers. But for an even long time women have been invoked in a yaga along with her husband while the husband recites mantra to agni, the wife is made to stand near him with a tharpa (grass) kept on his shoulder. It means that she is also a part of it except that she cannot recite the mantra. Its obvious that vedic hymns create subtle vibrations in the chanters body which women chakras cannot tolerate.

can u explain in importance off mercury shiv lingum...I was once given such a lingum but I felt like I was being control by the person who gave me the lingum...is this possible

Shiva linga in general cannot be handled by all of us. It requires a proper method of orthodox agama to work and pray using it. I am not sure if it is controlled by someone like a witchcraft. Why would someone do it with a lingam? If you are someone who doesnt perform rituals on shiva linga daily, its best to keep the lingam in a temple or give it back to the person who gave it to you. Take care and sorry for the three year old reply.

@@binodtharu6891 Namakam is in praise of Shiva and ends in Namo Namaha. Chamakam is asking for shiva for all the material things and heavens and heights in life. Chamakam ends in cha me, means please give. This is the difference.

Hello, I am enjoying your videos - you explain things well and make it all interesting. I stumbled upon a video recitation on youtube called Chandipath by Birendra Krishna Bhadra and I was completely blown away. I have listened to it over and over again on different occasions. I want to know more about it and find a translation but could not find much on the internet. Please make a video about it - I found it beautiful and would like to know more. What do the words mean? Is it a prayer for the well being of people, family, all living beings, or for dieties that once roamed the earth? what does it mean?

hello naren! thank you soo much for giving insight about rudram. i have a question, i am 26 already, but haven't performed my upanayana due to various reasons, my grandfather is a pandit and he tells me that i should never recite gayatri mantra or read anything from vedas until i have done my upanayana, but now i am too much into mantras and puja, what would you suggest?

  • @NarenMariappan

+Jeevan Dhakal Your grandpa is right. As long as you are a bhramin you have to wait for it since you have to get Deekshai from your father. The rituals and will be taught to you later by them but it doesn't mean that you cannot chant mantra. That if you are confident about your Sanskrit skill, you can proceed. Recite mantra or anuvakas slowly and correctly and then increase to normal speed. Good luck!

What is Ideal order for Chanting Ekadashi Rudram.... like What I know is Starts with (1) Ganapati Atharvashirsham (2) Guru Mantra (3) Saraswati Mantra (3) Rudram Namakam (4) Rudram Chamakam - 1 Anuvaku then again Shri Rudram Namakam and second Anuvaku of Chamakam and ending with Khshama Prarthna.... Please correct me if I am wrong here....

you are correct.. you can even finish the Rudra Namakkam and Chamakam that is once, go back to rudram and start and end till chamakam fully. You must repeat this 11 times and therefore making it an Ekadasi.
