This first video is showing an iconic hotel in Dambulla called 'Heritance Kandalama' hotel created by one of the most influential Sri Lankan architects Mr Geoffrey Bawa.
In all honesty this is probably one of the BEST hotel experiences I have ever had for many reasons. The architectural design, the close interaction between man made structure and nature, peace and serenity within the lush greenery, the 360 degree views, best variety of Sri Lankan and International food and the most amazing hospitality. The hospitality in particular is what caught my heart because they make you feel at home. This is the Sri Lankan hospitality that I know and LOVE.
I'm so humbled and grateful to be able to experience Heritance Kandalama and hope that by watching this, you will place this one on your bucket list next time you're in Sri Lanka or Dambulla. Cannot recommend this enough!!! There are two wings to the hotel - Dambulla wing and Sigiriya wing. If you choose Sigiriya wing you can ask them to put you in a room where you can see the famous Sigiriya rock (Lion Rock) from your balcony/window! How amazing is that! It's only a 30-45 min drive if you want to physically go to Sigiriya. Safe to say I will definitely be back!
