Actually South people don't identify with Sanathana Dharma... Goddess worship is older than the vedas...also There has been a lot of religious reform by great people like Adi Shankara, Ramanuja that is why Hinduism is still in it's purest form in the South...

I didn't understand a word but it was so beautiful, the singer has aashirwad of Maa Saraswati, music binds us, it connects us, be it any language. Although I'm from North india but there is something serene, humble, rich, gigantic about south India, the people are not just humble, they are connected deeply into their roots, they make that connect be felt by others who can't even understand the language, it was as if I have heard the song before without even hearing it, I could feel yes it's me knowing the lyrics, you people are so beautiful. Keep being the beauty of my country.

I used to sing this song from my 2nd standard. I am from shiva devoted family. My mom learnt this song in her childhood from music teacher and she taught me to sing in my child hood. This is my fav song ever..! whenever we visit Ambaal temple..we used to sing together !

I just happened to stumble onto this video, am totally blown away by this amazing voice! So beautifully sung! Have to look you up! This compliment comes from a land far away! I am of South Indian origin born and brought up overseas, never lived in India however my parents wanted both my sister and myself to know our culture, heritage and values so from a very very very young age we learned classical Carnatic music, and the various classical dance forms. We also learned to play various musical instruments - my favorite the sitar and special moments of my life was to play for Ravi Shankar, and to perform a duet along side Yesudas at the age of 10!
