Original is fun but this one is intense with all the raw emotions she puts in every word. This one is HEAVY.

This version has such an 80s vibe, and I'm very much here for it. I heard this one first, and didn't know it was a cover. I think they're both pretty neat, but I must say I prefer this one. Maybe it's because I heard this on first, and it's just pure coincidence. But the odd clash between the whole "can't deal" and the fact that it sounds like an 80s love ballad, really floats my goat and that's all I want my goat to do. Yes. Thank you. Bye.

Absolutely! This would be the type of song that plays at prom, everyone is dancing with their prom date and you're just sitting there at the corner no one wants to dance with you (or coz your prom date ditched you T^T)

Or how about they appear together at a future Newport Folk Festival? Squirrel Flower is almost certainly a future NFF artist. Caroline would have to do a more acoustic set, but she does that regularly!

This whole song, every second of it feels so tender, it makes me feel like just listening to it I could break the flow of it with how light and fragile it sounds, I love it so much. Or just listen to the original? Lol sorry. I don't have any issue with covers, as long as they aren't just a lesser carbon copy of the original, which this is not. I just treat them like totally different songs. No conflict necessary. That said...the original is pretty much perfect.

Come on, folks! Caroline Polachek is incomparable. She is the most dynamic singer/songwriter on the planet. It’s great that she’s being covered, especially because it’s not an imitation but rather an interpretation. But if you aren’t listening to everything that Ms. Polachek has put out you are missing unbelievable music, going back to Chairlift and Ramona Lisa. Her last two albums, “Pang” and “Desire…” are phenomenal.

Couldn't agree with you more. I get exactly what you're talking about. I think the way this particular version imbibed the sadness, lingering dangerously on the heartbreaking parts is exactly what makes it so so much better than the original. I did not understand what the original singer of the song intended to do? Nothing sits right, not the choreography, the lyrics nor the way she decided to sing it. So thank God for this one!!!
