Fun fact. Its implied that Squigs are tyranids created with ork DNA, and that the orkz just adopted them because they found the squigs sufficiently Orky. This means squigs can appear in both Ork and Tyranid armies. At least, in the old times.

@@memes_the_dna_of_the_soul5487 the plot holes that would create tho... the hivemind, why are they not siding with tyranids the moment they get close enough. squigs are in fantasy/age of sigmar, but tyranids are not. squigs are born from the spores just like orks, grots and gretchin, so they are as much orks as grots and gretchins. but i guess tyranid gene stealing could account for that. but for squigs to be tyranids they need to retcon a ton of established lore for a very small change. so i really prefer them to basically be just a feral animal mutation of orks.

Fun fact about bagpipes: They’re not meant to be just musical instruments. They’re meant to be used as tools of war. A mass of pipes will reach loud and far, thus masking the actual noise of the army they travel with, striking fear into the enemy before they even see the army that’s playing the pipes. You know when you hear a word so many times in succession that it stops sounding like a word? Well, since 'squig' sounds like that normally, imagine what a ride this video's going to be.

The "squig formula" is a result of the great ork retcon of 3rd edition. Only since then are they considered a set of orkoid subspecies. Before they were just all kinds of critters the orks, gretchins and snotlings ate, domesticated, bred, utilized, were eaten by, or lived in symbiosis with. Squig is just short for "squiggly beast" after all.

50 thousand people used to live here, they were all Alpharius.

Btw anyone who’s doing the book club, HIGHLY recommend doing the audiobook version of soul hunter, it’s great.

I love how the Cape Squigs only exist just to be a flex.

I have come for the face eater Squigs. Edit: I was not disappointed.

The only problem with this tier list is that there are so many squigs from OG warhammer fantasy, which is a setting that bricky doesn't like or care about and dk knows nothing about, I don't think it would change their ranking, but the orks in fantasy are so different than the ons from 40k

Huh, I've been listening to soul hunter over the last few days. Great read, has early cinematic marvel vibes mixed in with the grimdark horror and war scenarios. It really is a pinnacle of writing for 40k in that you could just drop in and identify with a character or be a veteran and find common interest in another. It checks all the boxes and pushes the envelope further than any other franchise is willing to right now
