I have the same guitar. Only thing I'm not digging is the colour of the fretborard... looks too clear to my eye. I'm happy with it btw! Very Sonic Youth-esque look & sound. One question: Does the vibrato bar have a spiral-type of insert or is a plain one? you just put it in the hole and it works or you need to roll it? I'm spanish so sorry for my english. Hope I'm explaining myself!

Have a good set up done on it. I am sure there are some good luthiers in the UK. As far as the vibrato bar it was used a lot in 1960s surf music. For example listen to the song penetration by the Pyramids, you can hear it here on youtube.

I'm no luthier, but I know how to setup a guitar, but I've found it's not so much the setup but the guitar itself that is not appropriate to my playing type, in regards to the bridge at least. I've seen many players that installed aftermarket parts in order to improve the string angle when it reaches the bridge and that is an investment I'm not willing to make for example

Hi there, thank you for watching and I am happy that you found it useful! I still have the guitar and I can say that once the strings settle into place properly that it holds the tuning much better, and in this video I did not put the tremolo arm properly into place (you really have to push it inside and then it will not come out of place) My advice to you would be to try it for an hour or two at a shop when it is possible and make the decision yourself, for my playing style I would definitely need a blade switch, but this is a nice studio guitar, it has its own thing, I am keeping it for now :)

Wow the one and only John Frusciante commenting on my video! I'm honored haha Well, intonation is totally fine tbh, and as for staying in tune it is pretty good as well. Not perfect, as expected from a guitar with a vibrato, but you can live with it. I think that in the rehearsal I took it to and in this video the strings were still a bit new, now the tuning is settling much better :)

I guess most people don't play the Jaguar like I do. Like it was originally intended. As a surf guitar. I have noticed that Kurt Cobain influenced a lot of people but I'm much older and I play it like it was played back in the 1960s. As a surf guitar.

How is a "surf guitar" supposed to be played though? Like Dick Dale and his classic Misirlou? That's a bit specific right? Try a staytrem or mastery bridge. There are often problem with the Mustang bridges used by fender as a supposed "improvement". Also on these squier jags, lots of people have been complaining about the neck angle, often requiring a shimmy to actually solve. Great video anyway. Maybe try one of the vintera jaguars or jazzmasters. Definitely much more reliable ! Also, quick fun fact, Hendrix started using a jaguar before he died as he found the strat became too stale for him.
