Squarebody Durability Test #1

I found the nicest square body pickup on earth, and now I'm going to abuse it until it completely falls apart. Today I will be pulling millions of pounds and working on my tuck to... maintain it....

Yes I've pulled over 90k lbs but I actually towed it for over 400 miles not 250 ft. Could my 350 drag that 10000% yes would it tow it far probably not they have weight sensors and things preventing overloading.

I live in farm country, we still have and use about 5 old 60s and 70s Fords, most of the old Chevys were cut in half and converted to a box trailers when they quit running, there are a couple original ones and restored ones around, but far more original Ford's around here at least. Honestly we've had them all and the Ford's were better at handling abuse. We do still have and use a 1970 C-50 Chevy with a grain box on it that has been pretty decent, but it's the only Chevy that's survived our farm. I worked at a gas station long ago and seen this happen the lines have a large metal connecting piece I’m not 100% sure how it works but my guess is magnets are holding it in so when someone drives away without putting the nozzle back into the pump instead of ripping out and potentially damaging the entire gas pump it just disconnects and halts the fuel supply leaving the pump. Literally designed to do that and I bet WD got permission to do that on purpose but even if he didn’t it still likely didn’t cause damage. Where I live we still have pump attendants and I used to be one this lady in her big truck pulled up wanted gas but it was busy and just me so I usually had a few cars on the go so I started hers and went off to do a few others she later heard it click off and not thinking assumed it was all hung up and done so she drove away with the nozzle still in her truck it disconnected same way it did for WD no body got hurt noting was damaged the thing is a bitch to put on its heavier than it looks but not unmanageable.

Modern trucks are built twice as strong as those square bodies. They were reliable because they were simple, not stronger. It’s the same reason Toyota “trucks” have the reputation of being reliable. They are incapable of performing the duties modern work trucks do regularly. Sure, dropping a newer truck on its side could deploy the airbags and electronically disable it. But their hubs, axles, and frame are twice as strong. Sure, modern high compression engines will hydrolock upon immediate startup after being upside down. But modern engines produce twice the power with twice the efficiency. Finally, with exception to less parts to break and easier availability of replacement parts, that’s where the benefits of those old trucks end. Also 2019 and newer trucks, or any vehicle with onstar can be disabled remotely. Half-ton trucks today can haul more than 90s HD trucks, much less something ten years older.

Well, except that time I reached down to change the radio (I swear I had AM and FM) volume on a rainy morning and ran off the right side, then corrected, then ran off the left side of the road. It rolled just 1/2 turn, and I shut the engine off while upside down. A friendly state trooper drove me to school. Once my dad's friend pulled a few dents, I was driving it again in a few weeks. The guy purposely left a welded-on dent pull circle-thingy on there to remind me I guess. 1982 blue Scottsdale K10 with a washer welded on the A-pillar, where are you now?

I'll watch one or two of these videos once every 6 months or so... Every time I watch a new one it seems like it just gets more outlandish and crazy. I love it.

Same, although he is, understandably, not knowledgeable on HDR and how to edit with it. It is a great feature so long as you have an actual HDR display to view it, also you can in fact change it back to SDR and "save" the footage even with free editing software like Davinci Resolve

@@pcmasterracetechgod5660 no KZreadr knows how to edit, it’s the camera man’s job to edit, this should’ve been known by now, he is simply a content creator not a editor you sound retarded for even bringing up hdr

2:23 "Octopus Headset" Wow that is such a good dig. It's actually a double dig because Facebook changed the name of Oculus to "Quest" and now Oculus branding isn't anywhere on the product anymore.

Great work dude! Also, the Isuzu NPR is consider one of the worlds best medium heavy duty trucks. I have 31 of them(NPR 3.0 diesel stripped chassis) and a whole bunch of drivers who try really hard to tear them up. the 4jj1 is considered one of the worlds best 3.0 4 cyl diesel. They are used to make drag racing pickup trucks the go into the 8's on street tires with stock 5spd manual gearbox Isuzu Dmax. My guess is you would have a good time with either vehicle NPR or Dmax.
