So impressive how you figured out that the middle of a 40mm bar is 20mm and then just guess the smaller one

I would probably cut a pice of flat plate, and weld that to the end, and then fit the tube. Those flanges won't hold much, when you cut most of the material away

They will do once they've been welded if theyre welded properly. Just as strong as a 3mm plate (if thats what's used to match the wall thickness of the box section).

With that precision marking, they could've just done without and eyeball it.

As a tiler I can eyeball cuts pretty damn spot on most of the time but the marking and fckin around is how you learn to dial that eyeball in most people can't just eyeball their cuts out the gate

I have… like pretty often. But I would never do it like this. I would just get a flat piece and weld the the thinner piece to it. And then weld the both to the thicker piece. Thats much faster and more exact.

​@@thebitch9224I weld harvesting ramps for in field produce packing lines ... we go from heavier tubing to lighter ones in steps ... indeed we have this situation everyday . Yes we weld a flat piece ... stronger and easier than this "risky" complex method . Ps - You dont even see the welds when we are done .

Ненадо пытаться сделать из совы глобус.Маловероятно,что хоть кому-то когда-то придется свапивать в торец 2 такие разные трубы.А уж если вдруг придется,то надо просто приварить заглушку,а уже к ней трубу.Люди,не занимайтесь онанизмом

That's what i like about metal. You don't have to be precise at all but you can still make it fit. Unlike joints in woodworking for example.

Fit up is critical to good welding. Yes, you can choose to be less precise but then you have to grind (unless you don't care what it looks like).

Exacto!... Yo también le pondría una placa. El material es de pared delgada, parece calibre 14 o quizás hasta 16, y luego para realizar el doblez lo raya, por no decir lo desbasta, con la esmeriladora. Se desconoce el uso pero a fin de cuentas esta dejando en ese doblez una pared más delgada que la del material utilizado y la probabilidad de falla es muy alta. Con la placa, no necesariamente gruesa sino al menos algo mayor a la pared del tubular, requiere más trabajo pues necesitarías hacer un ligero biselado y detallar soldadura para lograr una buena estética, pero el resultado será muy bueno en estética y resistencia.
