Crochet It Creations is hosting the Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along (CAL) and you are invited to join in! Each week for 6 weeks I will release a new textured fun square to make!

This is Square 6 of the CAL - the Celtic Weave Stitches. Stitches used are double crochet, treble crochet, front post treble crochet, back post treble crochet, and back post double crochet. Techniques used is a foundation double crochet rows and chainless starting double crochet.
The Square will measure 7". You can make any size blanket from Baby to King. See the post HERE for all the CAL pattern details - crochetitcreat...
Materials needed are an J 6mm Crochet Hook for this square, an I 5.5mm hook will be needed for other squares. Medium weight yarn will be used. I used Big Twist Yarn (6oz/170g, 371yds/339m) found at Joann's in the colors Medium Teal, Medium Grey, Soft Grey, and White. 2 skeins of each color to complete the throw blanket, if using 4 colors and Big Twist Yarn. Plus 1 additional skein to sew squares together and complete the border. Or about 3300 yards for the throw blanket, which measures approximately 50" x 60".

(Just a side note:). It’s not ‘SELtic’…it’s “KELtic’. Celtic refers to Irish culture and heritage, along with the historical people who migrated from the British Isles throughout much of Europe. While the early pronunciation was with an /s/ sound, reflecting its nearest origin in French, the modern standard is a hard "c" sound like /k/. This is because language historians desired the word to better reflect its Greek and Classical Latin origins. The soft "c" sound is usually reserved for sports teams now, like the Boston Celtics. But I absolutely love this stitch! Thanks for the video!
It took me more time than I want to admit but finally realized I could slow the speed of vlog instead of going back multiple times to see the stitches and I also zoom in so I can better see and fallow along. Da!
Thank you so much for this video! I have been crocheting for 20 years now and never seen the foundation technique you shared, nor the chainless double!! This has blown my mind🤯lol and this stitch is perfect for a purse front I am working on! Thank you kindly for the knowledge 🙏
Thank you for your tutorial. I really like the way you did the stitches. It made sense to me.
Love this blanket and the many different stitches! Can't wait to give it a try! Thanks, Kris K from CT 🌻🧶🙂
Super easy to follow! I love this series. Thank you so much for making!
This is tje exact project I was looking for!!!! I'm going to have to go back and watch the previous videos for this project . Yay!! 😁🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I have been practicing all of the square techniques today. Am not yet ready to start the blanket, but thank you sooo much for sharing this pattern. I love it so much that eventually I will make one for myself :)
New to your page. I enjoyed your tutorials! Thanks for sharing💗

You are so welcome!
This pattern is beautiful! I just started with this project and bought your pattern on Etsy. 😊 I can't wait to get to this pattern. I'm on the first square pattern just doing the front and back post stitches. Your videos are so easy to follow. Thank you so much.
I love the look of the Celtic Stitch, however, I don't like the look of the back of that stitch. I want the back to look exactly like the front. I found that if you do the front post stitch and the back post stitch in each row, the Celtic stitch will appear the same front and back.
Love the video very pretty and easy to follow. One correction though it’s pronounced Kel tik not Sel tik the Celtics basketball team has it wrong as well lol
This would have to be the hardest so far.
What!? Wow!
love all your videos! First noticed the Ana Beanie tutorial and am now lost in all your wonderful patterns and videos. Thank you! (also just wanted to point out that the pronunciation for "Celtic" is Kel-tik. =) )

Correct, Celtics people from ye Ole Scotland & Ireland, pronounced with a "hard C"...like a K. The basketball team uses the soft "c", like "sea, or "see".
🤯what 😲this is going to take me a minute to learn all these techniques 😅😭
Thank you for
Gorgeous stitch, well done. Just a little note, Celtic is pronounced with a hard "c", like "kick".... I'm Welsh and am used to hearing it pronounced incorrectly.

Ha I commented the same. Irish, Welsh, and Scottish here lol. Was born in Belfast raised in the US for some reason this pronunciation has bothered me my whole life.
Thankyou so very much. I’ve got 4 squares to finish and I forgot how to do it.
Hard to follow :(
Hi Jessica, how can you make it circular and how much you need to add and where. Thank you for your help 🙏
me encanta esta manta de square .... pero me encantaría si pudiera ser subtitulada en español 😚😚
Very good post easy to fallow along however Celtic is a hard C more like keltic. When I was a kid up north I was pronouncing conch wrong and when I finally found out I wished someone told me sooner because I was embarrassed. I would also tell U if you had Ur shirt on inside out 😂
coudl you make this in liek a triangle form?????
I wish you would show the whole blanket. Very beautiful. ❤

It's in the "Finish" video... look on her KZread channel, under Playlist.
I have tried this 7 times now, and I still don’t understand the back post stitch!
Is this yarn the classic or worsted line?
I would love to do this blanket but I would want the squares to be bigger. Like 12in. Possible? What is the multiple for each square?
Too fast for me, Its a great video, Ill just have to come back to it once Im a little more experienced.
What size hook?
Round 3 starts at 10:29 and round 4 starts at 16:11 .
Pronounced K-elt-ik stitch
I am trying to find out the name of a similar stitch, can you help me identify it? sk st, dc in the next 3 st, then go back to sk st, working across the front of the 3 dc, then working from back to front, work dc?

Hi, it sounds like "Cable Stitch". You might find that a pattern suggests a double treble (UK, Treble I think in the USA), rather than a shorter stitch. Because it's a taller stitch the twist over shows up better. Search for cable and see if you can find a pattern. Good luck x
hi..how can i increase the size?what's the multiple of this pattern?

I want to make it narrower(scarf). Think it’s 4+2. Gonna try it.
Yarn is too dark to be able to see where hook is placed. Yarn is too small also
You go too fast, especially when you started the 3rd row…
Not very good at explaining her stitches
