Square-1 Champion Attempts to Solve a Square-2 (With NO Help)
Фильм және анимация
After 7 years of competitive Square-1, I try to solve the 4x4 Square-1, the Square-2. Let me know if I should do more videos on this puzzle!

Lol I literally just recorded this video but haven’t edited it yet 😆 And was going to use the exact same title. Do you mind if I still do? Loved your version btw! You’re way better at this than I am haha

Of course, you don't have to ask haha. Funny coincidence, how did your solve go though? Curious how similar our solutions were :)

@@CubeMasterYT I started by seeing if I could solve each side completely then ended up doing what you did - reducing it to a square 1 and solving it that way. And would actually have finished it really quickly if not for the fact that I messed up the final adj parity alg like 3 times :'(

I actually did this video last month :D. I just reduced to SQ1 and solved from there

i tried approach 2 and it seems SIGNIFICANTLY easier than what you tried fun video though this was definitely interesting

After trying it off camera definitely agree! Still was fun to try blockbuilding though
I’ve always loved Rubik’s cubes and I thought all the other twisting puzzles would be too hard for me to find any fun in them, but recently I’ve really wanted a lot of the cut cubes and cuboids like this, it looks like a lot of fun now
When you went for layer by layer instead of reduction to SQ1, I was like noooo. I knew redux to SQ1 would be easier. But you got pretty close with it anyway. Good stuff. I want one! 😎
Interesting way to go about solving it. I just reduced it down to SQ1 and went from there. I uploaded a vid of me solving it back in November Yours turns much better than mine though
Pretty good video! It was so cool to see it slowly get solved, and the sounds of it turning was just really _satisfying_ 😌 Edit: Omg the relief when you finished it! 😍😅
That looked so cool!
Whenever you turned the normal square 1 after solving the square 2 for a while, it sounded so smooth and satisfying.

Yeah the Square-2 has the same mech as my main from 2014 lol
super nice video stay as you are ❤️🔥
Nice congrats!

This is crazy 😱
I have faith in you
Congrats! Now do a video where you speedsolve it by trying to reduce it to a sq1 from the start

Maybe! Been speedsolving it off camera and managed to get a sub 1 single. It's pretty fun!
I am so confused yet so happy you made it?

Hi Sam. I Got a volt v2 m for christmas and I took it apart to do your volt v2 m setup and I found out the only one slice has magnets so its unstable and when I turn the U and D layers it will try to kinda corner cut with the slice. Do you know of anything I can do.
Im new to square 1 and know how to solve it with tutorials but how do you learn the algs
How was the turning?
At the end when trying to solve corners you could have just done adj/adj, also swapping 2 random edges on the bottom, instead of inflicting yourself the parity alg.

Yeah, realized it a bit later lol
Hope it become and event and anyone csp tutorial
My brain hurts watching this lol
I know that there's also square 3, basically square 1 on the top and square 2 on the bottom

@@CubeMasterYT It's a confusing name. The Square-3 is a Square-2 with split edges... while the Square-3 Plus is a Square-1 on the top and a Square-2 on the bottom. As the original maker of the Square-3 Plus, I hate the name personally, but it's what Calvin wanted... I guess the Square-3 Plus is a little harder than the Square-2 if you're into that.
try sq-0 it's 2x2 version of it it's cool isnt it?
nice
i think reduction would have been a way better method
I just peel the stickers off..
my god its if satins child had a child thats 2 times hellisher then him
Your thumbnail looks exactly like the thumbnails from jperm I literally tuaght you where jperm
As someone who is just understanding/solving sq1 this looks crazy😭

/ 0,1 / -1,-1 / 1,0 / I think that is kind of an adj-adj, but swapping adjacent pieces. You could have used it in the last layer.
Very nice try
When you did the parity algorithm instead of just /D/ it kinda killed me. You were gonna have to solve cubeshape anyway…

Yeah, made the ending more dramatic than it needed to be lol. Figured that out a day later haha
So square-2 means back to square twice, am I right? And I wish this were a wca event, I like square-1 so I want this so badly lol

I just got the mgc squan for christmas and I love it. so satisfying to turn. But man I cant match ur speed. If i try to go fast, then I end up popping the cube. what do i do?
@CubeMasterYT
2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy the event! The MGC Square-1 shouldn't ever really pop, so make sure you tighten it a good amount since it comes loose out of the box.
@ZenPapaya
2 жыл бұрын
@@CubeMasterYT I mean it’s not really popping, I mean catching a lot more
@CubeMasterYT
2 жыл бұрын
@@ZenPapaya Catching is a bit harder to fix, probably best to not turn too fast and work on being accurate first. That's how I got fast at first!
@ZenPapaya

@@CubeMasterYT oh wow thank you actually. I guess it was both popping and catching so when I tightened it, it was pretty much back to normal. Also, ya know how you set up a cube, then use it for months, then it dries up and you need to relube it, do you have to take apart the cube and do the whole set up and cleaning again or is there some way to simply insert the Lube without doing the whole set up process and cleaning again
