4:06 That was a hit directly into the ammo, that's why it exploded. If you hop into the main menu of Squad 44, you'll find "Armor School". Click on that and you can take a look at X-Ray models of all tanks in the game. There, you can see there where vulnerable components of the tanks (especially ammo, gunner, tracks, engine, fuel tanks) are. Speaking of that, the most reliable way to disable a tank is by disabling its tracks or engine (rear) so that it's immobilised. After that, platoon lead (if your team has one) can call a bomb strike on it or friendly armour can destroy it. Anyway, an immobilised tank is much less scary already. I'd recommend you to try to set the fuel tanks on fire (check armor school). Those force the crew to hop out and extinguish the fire. You can kill them then and if the fire keeps burning, the tank will eventually cook off. Hope this helps!

The rocket ricochet sound is something to be desired. Kind of sounds like a whistler bottle rocket bouncing off the tank instead of a large impact and deflection. I'll have to try this game out.

@@SoulSniperYT AT isn't that difficult sometimes. To kill tanks effectively as AT you need to destroy 3 Modules to 'Hull' kill a tank I.E.: Gun Breach, Transmission, Engine, etc. Though Tracking and disabling the Engine is More than enough to kill most tanks with a competent Commander or Tankers, if you don't set it on fire from the fuel-tanks.

Bought the game a few months ago. I was considering playing a few days ago but checked the steam charts and was turned away due there only being 500 players vs 4,000 in HLL… that’s quite possibly a dumb reason though. Gonna give this a go this week, it looks awesome.

The Panzerschreck vs Sherman issue (and the AT weapon vs Tank issue as a whole) comes down to hitting components not just the hull, knowing what's behind the armour you're going to hit is the crux of the matter. For example, the last rocket you hit into the Sherman, that's where one of the ammo racks is. If you had hit that from the beginning you'd've either blown it up on the first shot or on the second. On principle if a tank is being annoying, aim for tracks or engine, a stuck tank is a dead tank which can be dealt with extra ammo from a rifleman or a friendly tank or a commander call in. Further to 13:20, as SL you can hold T and use the radial menu to mark as a infantry or tank, as well as place a marker that only your squad can see so they focus it.

Hey man, thanks for the tips. I fully figured it was more of a matter of incompetence as I really didn't know exactly where to shoot the tank. I assumed the sides and back is best but was just messing around in that game so wasn't too sweaty lol. As for the SL stuff, I didn't realize til the last stretch of the game that I had been promoted to SL lol. But I've played multiple games as SL since then and put down rallies and used the binos with the t menu to mark stuff, etc.

I made the switch from HLL to Squad 44 since I just massively prefer how the latter plays. Teamwork and constant communication combined with immersion is something I love

There are a handful of full servers, but it's more an overall health statement. I wish good things for the devs and longevity of the game, and having a tiny player base doesn't bode well. So I'm happy to see the playerbase seems to be on the rise.

I dont get why people get discouraged to play a game simply because the player count. I was still playing this when it was deemed dead, and it almost was. Literally would only have 1 full server. So to see it now get another major update which adds a ton of armor/vehicles, plus at least 5 full servers. Its really nice. Plus they're planning on adding the Pacific theater, which will absolutely bring a large player base to it.

man i love the fact that post scriptum has more accurate weapons the B.A.R actually has a bipod.. bren has a bipod, not sure if the theres an fg-42 but im sure if there is its prolly got a bipod, little things like that that hell let loose needs to take into effects, but so far t-17 is trying to revert back to their old ways of running the game into the ground and trying to turn it into call of duty

Both games are enjoyable, still find myself gravitating towards HLL but it's a great change of pace.

I'm most definitely going to start playing Squad44 more. I love hell let loose when the team coordinates...otherwise it's just frustrating to run for 5 mins and die to someone you never see😂😂 Maybe it's just a skill issue, but I have a lot more fun on S44

It was an originally a Squad mod that became its own game called Post Scriptum. It was developed my a French studio called Periscope Games. The game died and was bought out by Offworld industries and rebranded as Squad 44 last winter. Since then the game has featured a number of game changing updates and support, reigniting the community.

Bro in this game armour is implemented as realistically as possible Shooting at the frontal armour of a tank at a slant won't penetrate it. Look for weaknesses Plus there's a mode in the menu to learn techniques

Yea the game I cut to in this video where I was playing AT was a mess of a game where we had a silly squad and were goofing around. I assumed frontal hits were probably useless, but figured fuck it, let's send it lol. I know the armor damage modeling is quite in depth, which is really neat.

Yeah except a lot of printers today have the most ridiculous internet requirements and required apps just to set them up. Fuck HP

I bought this game and one of the reasons i did not play is because it had no controller support, i don't mind mapping and using a keyboard alongside a controller but i do not like playing any games with mouse and keys for movement. I do know you can use the steam controller input and then use that but seems like it doesn't work properly so until they get that right i just go back to Hell Let Loose.

Ok, based on the positive comments here, I’ll buy Squad 44, the sounds are really nice music to my ears than Hell Let Loose.

This game is on life support and without a radical reboot this will not change, but hey it’s an alternative to HLL. In Australia I’m not even sure they can half full a server and people have been trying desperately

It's basically getting a radical reboot. Lots of great dev work happening including the eastern front and the pacific being announced.

I dont think its really about picking sides (i mean, for some people it obviously is). My friends and i all bought hell let loose, and all of us stopped playing after like 10 hours, not beacuse "were picking a side", but because for us it was just plain boring. No one talked at all and the whole gameplay for us was basically spawn die, spawn die, spawn die... For some people the more arcadey nature of HLL is fun, for others like me, its the complete opposite. In the end both games are completely different experiences.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a preference or only enjoying one of the two games. But there definitely seems to be a one or the other mentality when it comes to these two games. I mean overall I prefer HLL, but that doesn't mean I don't also enjoy S44. And when I need a change of pace or a break from HLL, I love that I can jump into S44 and get a similar but also very different experience. It's awesome. I just wish more people would stop shitting on the one they enjoy less just because they feel it isn't as good. Like the people who sit in the HLL reddit and discord and shit on it saying S44 is better. Or the HLL fanboys who hate on S44. Play what you enjoy and let others enjoy what they like!

@@SoulSniperYT I obviously agree with that. Its basically, to put it that way, common sense. No point in shitting on something thats fundamentally a question of taste and preference. But i still think that this "rivalry" comes from very small part of both communities. While most players have their preference, i doubt that any of them really care enough to go around shitting on the other game (at least, actively). To be fair, ive seen a bit of this on the steam forums, but i dont use reddit so i cant tell properly. I think its also a problem of people judging these two games in comparison with each other. Honestly, i dont think they are really comparable. They are truly vastly different experiences, which cannot be judged on "universal" merits of one game. Meaning, one cannot judge HLL on the terms of criteria that applies to post scriptum. The fundamental ideas behind both games are radically different, and that manifests in the experience being totally different. Its like comparing Battlefield and Call of Duty. It was never ever really comparable, but people still compared them.

There's just so much more to do in S44 compared to HLL. So many more ways to win.

1000 hours in HLL and I'm over it same old thing each round empty feeling maps mic less players pretty much every man for himself.37 hours in Squad 44 and I've had more fun than all the time spent in HLL

The maps and character models are superior in HLL, where the visual effects like explosions, smoke, etc. look better in S44. Audio is also superior in S44 and some of the best I've ever heard. Just listen to those rocket deflections or even the sound of the grenade sliding across the ground when the dude tries to frag me next to that car.

Tried to play this game but it has so many issues. Won't load on servers, bugs that just kick you randomly. Its a shame but I got to the stage I asked for my money back.

Devs are actually trying to fix this game tho. Today a hotfix was released that solved most of the fos bugs. Not to mention the update about 3 weeks ago that added 40 new vehicles...

Really? I have never had any of those issues, I can count about 3 times a server kicked me in game. I've had servers with high ping that end the connection immediately sometimes.

Ooof no thanks. Will stick to HLL - this seems like a bit of a downgrade. Can’t quite put my finger on why but this just doesn’t scratch the itch. Fully appreciate that others may get it though - it just seems too hardcore for me.

That's not been my experience. I've had awesome experiences with several communities since 2020 and created my own community and server in 2021, which is now the top ranked US server on Battlemetrics. The people are amazing. You must have run into some bad eggs.

If only this game had the progression of HLL where you actually earn things by playing the game I think it would be more enjoyable and interesting to play. Playing the game for the game itself gets boring when there’s nothing to strive for

@@EmpanadaDeCaca mostly single player and split screen coop back in the day. But even then the game modes I played like ghost recon coop had SOME sort of progression. Meaning it was a coop story where you are PROGRESSING a storyline. Or even in single player you are PROGRESSING the story. I’m not saying games weren’t enjoyable in the past but the invention of progression systems to games adds a new element of enjoyment that you are EARNING something from your time. Which is fun. Never mind the fact you are unlocking new mechanics, weapons and other such to use in the game which add completely different styles to HOW you play the game. It’s just something to do. To make you keep coming back and “achieving” something. Versus just playing the game for the games sake. Which gets boring after like a few rounds.

@@LakevusParadice You do earn something in post scritpum. Its the experience. One of the most off putting things for people like me is the progression system in HLL. Most of us playing PS find that playing something just to unlock stuff in itself is boring as shit.

Remove stamina drinking bottle nonsense. Remove unnecessary nuanced milsim features. Slow down the running. Continue releasing quality content, updates, and DLCs. Convince us HLL players and you've got yourself a solid player base. In the meantime, I can not warrant wasting my time waiting for two servers to free up so I can play a match in a game that sees at best 1K players throughout the month. This studio is sitting on a goldmine, HLL is going nowhere, but it needs to match the essence and accessibility that HLL has, dare I say "arcade" feel? "Win the crowd, and you will win your freedom.” - Proximo, Gladiator (2000)

Removing the canteen mechanic would make the game worse IMO unless they entirely remove the stamina system. At least the canteen gives you a way to regenerate your stamina and actively offset the stamina drain for a decent period of time. Compare that with Squad where the solution is...to wait. That sucks.

@@SoulSniperYT canteen stamina buff just should be way longer, it depletes too fast. But like that when you are revived you start with 0 stamina makes aiming about impossible
