Happy big video day! I now see this knife in my dreams :) I'll be uploading the soundtrack to this video in 1 week (from video's release), alongside releasing it on SPOTIFY and APPLE MUSIC?? What?!?! Yeah, you heard me! Between now and then I'll possibly host a cheeky celebratory livestream, showing off a bunch of extras and talking about this video which I have spent like a year on god help me. If you feel like supporting me whilst getting all my future videos at least a day early, consider heading over to www.patreon.com/hintshot! And my Discord server is always available to join at discord.gg/Z3PUnw8 Thank you for hanging in there these last few months while I've been working away on this. I aim to make every video essay bigger than the last and already have tons of ideas for what's next, so look forward to that! Until then, I'll thank you once more for your support as always. 🤝 See you when I see you! -H

It's actually VERY common, like not even joking, I often disguise as a medic since I feel like it's spy's best diguise and a LOT of low hp players, especially soldier and demomen, just stay still and wait for you to heal them, especially if you're constantly changing through the crossbow's crusader and the medigun, then I just shoot them once or twice depending on their hp and it's hilarious because of their reaction every time.

@@sunrupuk9634 it takes a few seconds for that to happen, the person has to first realize they were stabbed, which due to the silent killer stat takes an extra second, seconds that are very valuable as a spy, it also depends on HOW the enemy calls it out, often times people will just say "SPY BEHIND YOU" and if they say that it actually will HELP you, because their team will look behind them, see the person calling out they spy and assume they were not the one stabbed, tho the chat icon will say they are dead, but again, it will take a second for someone to realize, every second counts as spy

The YER has been my favorite knife for a few months now, and I am passionate about it. It really does make it feel like you're playing Spy more like a... Spy. Getting a kill by truly fooling an enemy who KNOWS you're there is even more satisfying than trickstabs (most of the time at least), and this knife plays into that so well. So, as weirdly specific as it is, this knife is actually what got me into TF2. I was browsing the GMod workshop one night, saw the YER in it, and thought, "Hey, that's a damn cool looking knife." I checked what game it's from and found it's from TF2, which I got into and has been a significant part of the last 12+ years of my life. I've pretty much exclusively used this thing whenever I play Spy, at least until Jungle Inferno. I'd really love to see it go back to the way it used to be, but even if it doesn't, it'll always hold a special place in my heart and at the bare minimum be the coolest looking spy knife in my opinion.

I'm glad you talked about how the instant disguise always puts you as the right class to be in. I have never been healed (and even ubered) as much by enemy medics while disguised as I have been while using this knife. It's my go-to knife for this reason alone

I have a Strange Prof. KS YER and I use it pretty much anytime I can. Not only does no one expect it at first, but it feels so much more satisfying slipping into specific roles to fool your enemies. Seeing your disguise actually work is amazing. The silent killer aspect also helps plenty to retain your stealthiness. From a YER enthusiast, I appreciate shedding some light on this masterpiece of a knife. Cheers.

The best part about a KS YER is that when you get a chain stab, because of the lack of kill feed, it discreetly tells each member of the opposite team how many backstabs they completely missed before you got to them

Makes me so happy to see another video on this knife! I've loved how the YER makes you play Spy since I first started TF2, and while I'm upset about the added cloak drain downside, I still find the YER to be my default pick when playing Spy. It's an extremely effective and underrated weapon choice, and you're one of the first people to elaborate on how it requires a decent knowledge on using disguises which is one of my favorite parts of its playstyle and your video!

I’ve had this idea lurking around my head on how to switch up the YER a bit: On backstab, if you’re covered in any fire, Jarate, milk, etc, it will be removed from you when disguised. This will only work for the knife however, so regular disguise will still have the effect on you. I do agree with removing the drain 100%. I love customizing my loadouts for any class! (I’m looking at you, Crossbow-Übersaw Medic)

The YER has always been and probably will always be my favorite spy knife. It's such a different way to play that (unlike some knives) you can't just rely on getting 5 trickstabs in a row. It actually makes you think about how you play spy more, and just using this knife as much as I do has made me such a better spy because with it, I actually know how to properly disguise and act to not be noticed. The cloak drain imo isn't that bad, because it puts more focus on acting instead of just disappearing to get out of situations. Tbf it might also just be that I use this knife (without the l'tranger) so much that I'm used to the reduced cloak. Overall, good weapon, and I'm glad to see it getting more love recently.

This video is absolutely phenomenal. It’s always been my favorite knife but I rarely play spy so I never could quite figure out why it was so fun to me. There is nothing more fun to me than convincing an entire team that I’m on their team, so I’ve always been good at the acting, but not so much the posistion of my disguise. This really helped put into perspective why it’s so fun to me. Thank you man

I doubt you'll see this HintShot, but I might as well try to express what I think. Personally, I believe you're one of the best KZreadrs in the TF2 scene that covers Spy content. You don't try to go for flashy trickstabs all the time, nor constantly use the "meta" loadout of the L'Etranger, Kunai, and Ringer. You play to your strengths and play the Spy as intended; a somewhat-powerful pick-oriented class that needs mind games, quick thinking, and a calm mind to perform well. You obviously spend hours upon hours on whatever you create and it's always astonishing. Thanks for all the content and amazing Spy gameplay. Despite my five years playing TF2 with most on Spy, I aspire you reach the level of class and skill you depict in these games. Cheers.
