Agree take the cash also. I have payrange in all my stores and they do make it nice using less coin

I like the ideas of being able to use a credit card with coins still. I lived at a complex that switched to a laundry card, wasn’t a fan.

It is nice that they give the option of using cash or Visa/Mastercard

What are your opinions on CCI (F2&F3 models) and Kiosofts card systems?

Is is reasonable to consider people with a real case of arachnophobia, that would never touch a machine that displayed a black widow spider, that would not patronize a Spyder laundromat ?

I know I'm 8 months late to the conversation, but thought I would chime in. I have SpyderWash at 3 different laundromat stores, use to be 4. There are a lot of problems with SpyderWash. Don't get me wrong, when it works, it works well. But when this system goes down, and it does, it can be very frustrating. The problem is that the SpyderWash hooks into your equipment, then connects from the reader to the Setomatic Hub via Bluetooth. The hub connects to the internet via an ethernet cable. The internet sends the feed to the credit card processing company (Cantaloupe). When one or more of these pieces goes down, you never know which one is the problem. You have to figure out if it is the equipment, the Setomatic system, your internet connection, or the Cantaloupe processing center. Setomatic, which runs Spyderwash, always wants to say that their system is fine but the store system always comes right back up after speaking with someone at Setomatic.....again after they deny deny deny that there was any issue on their end. Cantaloupe had a problem this year where they got several weeks behind on their payouts......that hurts, especially when it happens at the end of the month and rent & utilities are due. I just recently heard that there has been a huge change to the processing of credit cards and the effects on the SpyderWash system. Apparently as of December 31, 2022 the older style credit card readers will no longer accept TAP or CONTACTLESS payment. Supposedly Setomatic sent out a customer wide email to notify everyone of this on December 6, 2022........First of all, I didn't get the email. Not in trash, not in Spam, not in a folder somewhere. Never got it. I reached out to 4 other local laundromat owners that also use SpyderWash and they haven't seen the email, nor did they know about this change. Not sure what to say here, but Setomatic's response to me was "we sent the email, you must have it". Well I don't! Secondly, why are you letting us know of these HUGE changes with 3 weeks notice. Not only that but you have the week of Christmas and New Years, so most everyone is closed. Come to find out that if you want your readers to work properly, then you have to convert over to the newest style. Setomatic will happily take your old equipment and sell you the new for $500/each. Or you can just buy the new outright for about $650/each. I just installed the Spyderwash system at 3 of my stores for about $200,000 and now I have to replace it with new readers? I just bought $5k of readers from Setomatic in late October, but no one bothered to mention these potential changes that were coming, now these are essentially worthless. Don't get me wrong, the credit card readers will still work if your customers swipe their cards, but we live in an area where most use Apple or Google pay. So I did the math and it will cost me about $190K to upgrade all of my credit card readers. REALLY FRUSTRATING! I'm currently looking at other options and I found a company called Pay Range. You can buy a kiosk and people can select which washer/dryer they want to start. Not the best solution, but you may want to think long and hard about using SpyderWash. They preach how they want to partner with you, but they really are NOT good partners. Think long and hard about this BEFORE you make the investment.
