I recently picked up a k390 endura 4 wharny and have been absolutely loving it! I’ve cut rope, wood, cardboard, zip ties, a glove, rubber hose, all kinds of stuff and it still cut paper! It’s probably in need of a good strop soon but factory edge is holding up amazingly! Awesome share brother!👊🏼🤘🏼

Have a couple of the endela,endura ,2 warrnie’s,2 stretch 2’s and police 4lw in k390 and they are great. K390 is the bomb.👍🏻

Last month I got the Police 4 , FULL serrated, in k390....it is a cutting machine that shows no mercy ..I love it, only use it for tough jobs, moderate jobs I use RAT 1 in D2, every day carry, I pack a Kizer Coromant

I'm amazed that you guys can get this for $113 atm, great value... In France the lowest price is 197€ ! I would love to get this knife in Spyder Edge, what a monster that would be ! I think the worst kind of censorship is the self-inflicted one !

Very nice video. I just ordered a used endura 4 in k390 for $75 so I’m super excited to get it in tomorrow and see what the hype is all about. I’ve owned the endura in vg10 and it was a great knife but I couldn’t pass up this deal on a great design and upgraded steel. I love big knives so I’m gonna see if I can fine me a police 4 in k390 as well lol

Preach brother. I have been rocking a Para 3 in K390 for years now and it has been out perfoming every single steel I own, including Magnacut. It does lack in corrosion resistance but I've found it easier to maintain than M4 and D2. Its crazy how inexpensive that steel is on some knives. I've been spreading the good word myself to everybody I know because it is also my favorite user steel that I've come across so far. Thanks for the video!

Either/or of these models is on my list because of watching your videos. Your honest excitement for them is contagious. The demonatizing thing is clearly a try and fail or succeed thing. So many times, I hear channels struggling to understand the rules. It's clearly not based on logic or a clearly stated set of requirements. I see how hard you work, and it's a bummer to see you knocked down like this.

Thanks Ken. I have already decided to just continue and be myself and if they demonetize videos, then so be it. It's not much money, literally a couple pennies per video, but it's a tangible return for the work put into something that makes it enjoyable and addicting.

I have a Delica, dragonfly, and stretch 2, and ladybug in k390. It’s so good. I do have lots of magnacut for the stainlessness and toughness. It’s great for days when I’m going to be sweating my butt off or in humid wet environments. Both are great

I do like the steel but I feel it doesn't give me and my personal use a whole lot more than a properly done s30v. My pm2 in s30v lasts about 2 weeks and my Stretch 2 or delica in k390 last about the same before I get a ding or roll big enough I gotta go to at least a fine stone rather than a strop. I've thought about trying magnacut for it's supposed toughness and maybe I can go longer between sharpenings. It's a bit easier to sharpen I feel though and it will, like you said, hold that screaming edge longer than just about anything else I own. My Stretch 2 in k390 is probably my favorite spyderco and knife in general though. I've been wanting to get an endura in the k390 and then I'd have a matching set in vg10 and k390 of delica/endura. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't want a larger knife. Also thought about the endela, and to your comment, spyderco made that model because enough people said the delica was a touch too small and the endura was a touch too big so they gave us a medium size option. I've also always wanted a police, but I know I probably wouldn't carry it. The endura is about the max I like to go for a pocket knife. A fully serrated one would be cool to add to the collection just for fun though.

The Endura4 is too large for EDC but I still bought the teal S30V version a few years ago for $102 I just couldn't pass it up & because it's absolutely beautiful.

K390 is hands down my favorite steel as well. It's tough and holds an edge forever. I don't really care all that much about being stainless. Stainless is nice, but low on my priority list. I've always been a tool steel fan anyways.

Heck yeah , I want some k390 from what I’ve heard but the honest truth is I can’t tell any difference unless I’m sharpening 😂. It’s nice to know good steel is there though , more confidence in the blade for me . I’ve heard nothing but great things about this steel like it’s better than m4

Cruwear, magnacut and k390 are my favorite steels and it isn't close. Magnacut has the edge retention of cruwear, nearly the toughness and is much more stainless making it perhaps the best for hard use folding knives. Cruwear is tough but doesn't lack hardness, still more stainless than d2 which was industry standard, my favorite overall. K390 has a similar balance of properties but leans more toward edge retention than toughness but is the least stainless of the three. Honestly I could see k390 being best for anyone not cutting flooring covered in dirt because that edge will keep going. I'm replacing my benchmade 945's in s90v for a dragonfly 2 in k390 as my small knife. Acid washed wharncliffe regrind from knivesplus and some red carbon fiber scales will look great and the blade wouldn't look almost serrated after a few days at work.

I totally agree with you assessment sir! I've got the Endura in K-390 FRN, the Police in K-390/G10 and the PM2 in K390. Very useful tools! I do enjoy the shit out the honesty in your video's sir! My leafjumper in K390 has been impressive and blowing my non knife people coworkers minds lol. Mine took a patina almost immediately. As much as i want to love the steel and the knife i dont see it replacing my 940-2, that knife with the purple flytanium scales just speaks to me like no other ever has.

What about corrosion issues? Is it OK as a picnic food prep knife?

@nicholasedwardbehindtheedg2343 thanks. I have no experience with high performance powder steels at all. I got 15 or so knives, some of them in D2 and never experienced corrosion issues. I usually wipe them clean and try to cut accurately to avoid food or moisture getting into pivot area. So want an upgrade to some premium steel. K380 seems cool in specifications and user experience. Still I'm a bit worried about corrosion. And I actually don't care about discoloration and patina.

Man I ordered me a shaman in 15v this morning, it's stock I'm gonna pimp it out I payed 319 for it on knafsale can't wait but I have 3 knifes in k390 love it😅

@@michaelmiller7352 not hard at all if you are using a fixed angle system with decent stones. And if you are sharpening by hand it just takes a little longer. Not hard at all tho.

I dont know why but my k390 needs to be sharpened all the time, after a week of use it absolutely will not cut paper like yours just did. I cut cardboard at work, i cut plastic zip ties, i cut rope and i use my knife a lot, but it doesnt hold an edge as long as most people say in their reviews.... idk why?

That's strange. I cut those exact things myself at work. Maybe not as much as you. Have you sharpened it multiple times? Have you tried laying the angle back to a more acute edge level? If not try those things. If you have them you could possibly have a bad one. First bad Spyderco I've heard of.

You need to use diamond or SiC because of the vanadium carbides. Its so hard average sharpening won't work well. You'll be able to get it sharp but the edge retention suffers a lot.

Thats kinda crazy i just watched "A Dose Of Drew" review almost the exact same knife. Spyderco k390. His video was from a year ago so you guys probably got the knives at the same time. Check him out good guy and good content. A Dose of Drew on the you tubes

You can dumb it down to 420j steel, doesn’t mean that 420j is better. Also k390 won’t get dull under any normal cutting use. This means that a strop will get it to perfectly sharp every time. You also get extremely long knife life out of it. What’s there to not like? Doesn’t mean that vg10 is bad. But good luck just stropping vg10.

The regular VG-10 Delica4 is one of my all time favorites. You get good corrosion resistance & decent edge retention.
