Holy cow i just noticed if you remove the jet engines from the Blackbird, your looking at a 6th gen plane! Move the engines to the bottom of the craft.! .I think the blackbird the F117 and the YF 23 should be updated and that would save money and with that ya got couple 5.5 gen craft . Sometimes looking back is the best way to move forward! If ya have it, use it!!

Your arithmetic might be out of order. Blackbird -engines is nothing more than an interesting proposition. If I recall what I stole, ,,, I mean learned, from Kelly Johnson (Designer of every major advance in aircraft design since the early '30's. 1930's I mean): you got to have range, and you got to have altitude. You got to have a purpose built frame & wing design that WILL achieve your stated purpose. Failure at the design intended speed WILL have catastrophic consequences. There is no P'ing around.

The US hasn't even developed a fully workinh hypersonic missle. How can they have a hypersonic aircraft.

A bright future for warfare, perpetual spending, and governmental demagoguery.

Although I found this to be fascinating, I'm of the firm belief that to many top secret things are being brought to the attention of individuals that have no business in knowing what the military agencies are doing. And far to many secrets are being given out. And those pieces of equipment should be known of by the personnel that are in control of their use, and the individuals that are using them. In other words, you will be informed on an as need know bases.

Speaking with respect, but would you really want President Biden to fly in a plane at hypersonic or even just supersonic speed? Do you have any idea how many physical tests a pilot must pass to be able to sustain the strain of supersonic flight? Do you think it's a health walk?

Won't get made,to expensive,and the materials to withstand the flight, would be scarce,and a vehicle going as fast as they predict, won't be able to use its weapons,
