Bit unfair of Ange there. It'd be pretty arrogant for people to assume he'd know who Robbie Williams is. There are plenty of British people who wouldn't know and it's not like you can just assume someone is popular in another country. Robbie, for example, is basically unknown in the US while Kylie has barely made a dent there too. I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't look to kindly on an American who just assumes we know as much about their music as they do, so these reporters deserve some credit for not assuming the rest of the world is just the same.

So did Mourhino and Conte before they arrived at Tottenham. We've heard that line before, more than once. But we can live in hope, aye.

@@LordFergII 3 things. Levy obviously isnt against winning, but his main objective has been to make the club sustainable, which he has actually been very succeful at. Supporters dont generally care about that, they just want success. But Levy would look at you with hollow eyes if you said that to him. The players obviously want to win stuff. They arent there just having a kick about. Jose and Conte both had winning mentalities, and would have been passing that on to the players, but the players hjust werent good enough. And the current squad really isnt either. We need a lot of changes. 3. The supporters, no matter what you think, want to win trophies. Yes they can have an effect on games with their support, but ultimately with any club its going to be reactionary to what they are seeing. I dont think there is any way around that. Its going to happen.

Etc... every clubs supporters would do the same. Don't be silly. And personally, from people I was talking to, I don't think it was an outright "we demand to lose." It was more a "we are probably going to lose anyway, it's city, so im not going to be upset when it means we aren't helping arsenal." Deluded its the Premier League, not the A league, the SPL, or the J League. It's brutal. he's more likely to get sacked than win a trophy. The average life of a PL manager is barely 2 years. It's not unusual for struggling clubs to have 3 in a season. He did well to finish 5th 4:39 , even if they limped over the line. His biggest challenge is the 2nd season. His style has been sussed, he needs a plan B

Same for Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, and certain players. Everywhere else they win BUT Spurs. Then you have to ask why. And then the only common denominator is Chairman Daily Philip Levy. He never fully backs the managers. Always handicaps them. They need 4 key players and he will buy one quality player, two or three mediocre (aging has-beens or bargain bucket basement types) and one or two youths that will go out on loan permanently and never see first team football. Tried and tested formula for Levy.....oh, only for 23 YEARS now!!!!

In leagues with salary caps and strict restrictions to ensure as much equality as possible - it technically should be harder or as hard, as a manager, to win in a lower or more regulated league than a tier one league Manager ability and player ability doesn't ladder up in the same way
