This loco is, in fact, a 241 SNCF loco that was taken from France by the Germans during WWII.
After the war, Eastern ingeneers refurbished it although same spare parts could not be found due to the "iron curtain" which separated the two parts of Germany at that time. This is why this loco was not very reliable, which leads to its withdrawal in 1953.
