I have one of these phat flies and they work great, I personally like to hop them in canals, and they work so great, when there are bass around, it only takes a few cast to get a bass. They are amazing.

Bill, are there hook sharpeners for these smaller hooks? and if so, could you recommend a brand? I'm thinking after 10 or 15 bass, I'll need one. Plus, I've been saving all my drop shot size 2 hooks that have dulled out. I have the 1/16oz. Awesome lure. Falls completely horizontal. Baby bass colors look ELECTRIC in the water. One thing I love about your lures is that they are hard, so that means there's no plastic being deposited in our waters from these lures!

Maine Man Bassing Hey buddy, got hook sharpening on smaller hooks I just do not take the time. With smaller wire gauge I have found after a few times sharpening the tip it gets smaller very fast and just scares me with possible failure when hooked up with Big Fish. If I do I just use a simple small hand held hook file. One with small file teeth. You can find one on TacjkleWearhouse. Hoe this helps. Thanks for watching, this is one of my favorite little bait that catches so many fish!

LimitFisherman48, I already put together a 150K DVD on swimbaiting a few years back. I went from Cali to Fl and showed a lot of high end techniques with bass to 18# and other fish even bigger. If you pay attention what I am showing you even with the clip I have caught bass to 18# at Castaic with a crappie jig ;)

Most come with no line and you get to pick your own. Just depends on what you are fishing for and the lures that you are going to use.

Bill, I'm about to buy a 7' rod to throw the phat fly and 2.5 swimbait. Would you recommend medium or medium light? Both choices are fast taper. Thanks. reel is a daiwa revros 2000

Maine Man Bassing. Man that’s so hard because is rod company make a little different rod style. But with a Phat Fly and 2.5 I would look more towards the med light. Hope this helps.
