You don’t see sprint finishes in a marathon very often. That’s crazy.

if it happens it means that they didn't pace their race well
@marathonranati

yes they are often! they turn it on always the last 200m... but Kipchoge paced himself amazingly during, so he doesnt sprint! he even slows down like Usain bolt.

@@Jimmylenaze I dont think so, they just have a person with the same preparation who paced them well!
Oceanside Tri needs to learn from this to put their cameraman way back. Beautiful finish 👍
Imagine sprinting at the end of a marathon
Not sure how anyone ever is able to sprint at the end of a marathon. 🤯

When it’s that close, it’s got to be the stronger mental game that wins.

I love how these guys just rip these sub 2:05 marathons off like its nothing anymore.....I remember when running under 2:10 was considered impressive....LOL!

well two factors now the fastest runner in the world ie sub 27 min 10K runners now run the marathon because that is where the money is and then the new carbon plated super shoes have improved performance 4-5 %

The pros could have worn regular shoes and still run sub 2:05 2:02:57 was ran with regular shoes 26:17 was ran with regular shoes 12:37 was ran with regular shoes 3:43 was ran with regular shoes 🤷🏻♂️ Facts matter

Check New York Marathon 2005 if not mistaken. Paul Target vs Hendrik Raamala. Sensational They were more closer. But what can we say about this race it was superb and wonderful to watch and exciting towards the end

That gold chain slowed him 10 seconds over the race probably or he would in by 8 seconds not lose by 2.

@@adelben-harhara2724 east africa has the best running genetics in the world. The win in asia, USA, india, the middle east everywhere. I think since the 1980 olympics its been this way. USA won in 1976 before it became more international and included east africa.
