Back in the early 80s, I was a deputy sheriff and my duty & EDC was the 357-Magnum, and a semi-auto for back-up, the 9mm ammo was lame, So 4 years ago, I bought a 9mm, they have come out with some excellent 9mm in the last 7+ years, I'm fond of the law enforcement ammo, HSTs Gold-Dot's & others. Great review! I have the GX4 and it had a few issues out of the box, but smoothed out over time. I have pistols from most manufacturers and they all have pros and cons. It truly is all personal preference. Thanks for making these videos and providing your personal insights. They help me a lot when researching for my next.

Taurus has come along way. Both are quality guns. Shoot what you have confidence in.

13 rounders made a huge difference to me. I also stippled the front of the trigger guard on my GX4. I didn't like it at first... now I love it. For EDC it's perfect, even with 13 round mags. The 15 rnd GX4 Carry mags fit too. You can get the 2 round mag extensions from Taurus for $10. That's what I did. Also, Glock 43 sights fit the Taurus, so...night sights.

Got the gx4 for my wife... ended up being my CC that I mainly use. It goes in rotation with gx4xl, and hellcat pro. I find my self carrying it 3/4 of the time. Added an optic, and 13rnd mag... we're good.

I have the 365XL, and wanted the regular size also. I bought the GX4 instead, for the price point. No regrets whatsoever. My front sight came loose on the first range trip. I replaced it with an Ameriglo and used Loctite. I was gonna do that anyway. I carry both, the GX4 when size affects concealability with my clothing choices, the 356XL when it doesn't. (when I'm not carrying a 357 snubbie, which is most of the time lately) Taurus hit it outta the park with the GX4.

I have all 3 and for me and me only the 365 won hands down. I’ve decided we all have different grip strength and size and what works for me don’t necessarily work for everyone. Do love the videos.

I agree, everyone is different. The Sig was the most accurate for me however, and the slightly larger Macro is a 100 yard gun in my hands (reviewed recently).

I have the gx4 and love it, it's so comfortable/natural feeling with that grip. GX4 definitely now I'm on to gx4 Carry

I have the OSP Hellcat as well, it was my EDC for a long time, and I still would carry it. Mine did come with the 11 & 13 round magazines and I did have a flush fit base plate. But to be honest I always carried it with the 13 round magazine and then had the 15 round and later 17 round magazine in my pocket. Ironic you are comparing it to the GX4, when I bought mine the Taurus G3c was the latest and greatest from Taurus, I thought the Hellcat felt better.🤷‍♂ My Hellcat's trigger did lighten some after about 500 rounds, but it is still a heavy trigger. And coupled with the small size, I did have to practice a good bit before I felt I was proficient with the Hellcat.

My G3c rear sight drifted like your Taurus. Blue Locktite solved it. My G3c has been very reliable for 2k rounds.

Merry Christmas BB! I have carried a Hellcat since they came out and it is an excellent CC handgun! Incredibly reliable and the recoil is not great, but certainly manageable. Mine is optic ready but I don't care have an optic on my carry handgun! I really like the sight picture, the front night sight is awesome!

Academy sold an exclusive promotion on the GX4. It came with two 11 round mags and two 13 round mags for $359. I picked it up for $332 with a 5% discount. I'll put a pinky extension on the 11s. I was going to buy the P365, but I could get the Taurus and 1000 rounds of ammo for the same price with 4 mags instead of 2. They still have the promo going while supplies last.

@@BuckeyeBallistics They do. They also have a good website where you can check inventory before you go. I live 30 miles away, so that's a good feature. I can also pay online and just run up there to pick it up. If they're out of something, they'll email you as soon as it becomes available. You'll get $20 coupons in your mail. I don't buy anything on credit, but they knocked $30 off my LCP Max for applying for the card. I now use the card to get automatic 5% off every purchase and then ask the cashier to ring up a card payment and hand them the cash for the purchase I just charged. lol

The Hellcat dose come with a flat bass plate. Your buddy probably lost it... There's some great options out here. personally, I would prefer the Hellcat. I have one, Hellcat: The takedown is easier. It's more reliable. You get a single light rail. You can get high capacity OEM magazines. And in my opinion, it's a good shooter. I have a video of me shooting the gun. The recoil is nothing

I've open carry for year's but my 357 revolver kinda gets in the way on my tractor so the gx4 works well. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun

With all other factors being close to equal, it's tough to beat the reliability of the Croatian Made Springfield pistols. I fully trust my original Hellcat, paired with the 147gr HSTs. Very impressed with the Hellcat torture tests that have been published, especially the 10,000 round +P video. Not sure yet if the GX4 can reverse the sad reputation of the past Taurus semi autos. Time will tell...

If you have the extra cash for the Springfield, definately nothing wrong with going with it for the proven reliability. Or just in general, because some may prefer the Hellcat...

Do you ever carry your EDC dirty? I don't, you always want what you trust your life with at tip top shape

I have a GX4 with a Holosun optic for CC with an OWB holster. During warm weather a carry a GX4 w/o an optic as a pocket carry. These are great pistols for the price. Accurate, dependable and easy on recoil for a small pistol.

I have smaller hands. ButI put on the bigger back pads because of finger travel. I’m no to shooting and I noticed it’s harder to get to the trigger with the smaller back pads. There’s also last space for my control hand, so I’m liking the bigger grips.

Ive watched your older videos on the Rock Island Armory 1911. Was wondering if you will do a video on the RIA VRPA40 12Gauge. I’ve seen some and I’m interested how they perform for the price of these.

I know the Hellcat sights are probably better, but I can’t stand the u bottom on them. I’m old timey and like square top and bottom. But fit finish and over all feel is pretty damn awesome.

Technically it cups the round front insert better, but I hear you...

I bought a Gx4 and Hellcat Pro on the same day and was surprised I shot tighter, more to point of aim with the smaller GX4. Had trouble focusing on the Pro's U notch sights and grip was too vertical. Taurus trigger is also a bit lighter.

Glad you & CrankyGunReviews did the .410 shotgun shell series. I found your channel, Boomstick,and RighttoArmBears so far. Visited Ohio in June, loved it! Even found a gun shop. Pining for a non-commie state to move to one day. Merry Christmas to y’all & your family. 🎄✝️🎄

You need to keep Gx4 clean. I noticed it gets pretty dirty after 100 rounds than my other guns. But i like to clean my guns after a trip to the range

Good I bought one of those GX4 and it’s been nothing but awful… the gun wouldn’t go into battery right out of the box unless it was forced, it also had a 17 pound trigger. Send it in to Taurus got it back and it was a little better, but not much still had that force it into the battery and would go from the weight of the spring and the trigger was down to 8 pounds. Then the firing pin broke so I had to send it on again all this happened in the span of 4 months….I will never buy another Taurus firearm.

i carry the GX4 with a 13 round mag. Its easy to shoot, easy to conceal and reliable all the time.

Arex Delta Gen 2 M competes with the hellcat pro & 1/2 the cost & just as good of a gun... Nice 📽️

I've been considering the GX4 but has Taurus addressed the issue of drop firing? It was advised initially that you not carry with one in the chamber for that safety issue. I do love my Hellcat. My trigger is lovely!

Sounds like a question for Taurus. But I would assume that immediately after discovering the problem and issuing a recall for it to fix it, that they employed the same fix on the assembly line for all models going forward from that moment. Problem is, you have no clue about the build date of the one sitting on the shelf that you're looking at... except I think you can run the serial number with them to check if it's one that's recalled.

Order the ported barrel for gx4 make less snappy

I got a Sig P320. I had mine for luje a year and it's my favorite pistol I've owned so far. One of my friends got a new Hellcat Springfield. He's been trying to get me to trade him guns. I was never going to trade him guns but I feel like he found something wrong wuth his gun and he's trying to pass it down to me.⁶

The Gx4XL is less snappy tthan the GX4

I guess My take on snappy is different I own a gX4 I don't notice recoil. Now my Glock 33 357 sig is snappy

Apex T3 trigger for Hellcat is pretty nice

I use to grip the gun tyne way you do. You should check some videos out that talk about it. Could help your shooting

For me GX4 hands down. The Hellcat can go straight back to where it came from. LOL

I'm not locked up on the guns while sitting like I am while standing- everything is more relaxed.

I have the original GX4 and the Toro version! I put a Veridian on the X4 original and a laser flashlight combo on the Toro! Both shoot everything well! 115 to 147 grain ! Range and HPS ! No issues! I have the P365 and the Hellcat ! I love my X4’s better!
