I am also very excited to do these flowers and plan to hand sew them while I sit outside and relax by the pool!

Lovely flowers, I was all excited this week as the housekeeping said the placement would come out with block 5. But you were teasing us, we will have to wait until next week 🙁. I am no good at waiting as almost bursting with excitement to see the layout. Hopefully my colour choices are good when I see the placement 😂😂😂

I find EPP is a little too hard on my hands -- an alternative is to trace the sewing line and hand piece them. Works great for hexagons! You can then use the paper piece to fold the outside seam allowance over and press it down, if you're going to appliqué

Do 1” hexagons work as well, or is it necessary to have 7/8”?

I am going to use my 1 inch templates because that is what I have. 😊

Me too, I am using 1" templates as I already have some. I don't think it will matter as it seems they will be appliquéd onto the background. 🙂

I'm afraid I'm not keen on detailed hand sewing anymore. I'll have to sit this week out and hopefully I can come up with an alternative when we get to put it all together.

I'm not a fan of EPP. I tried... but I can hand piece with a running stitch much faster. They probably are not as precise as EPP, but they are close enough to lay flat and suit me. 🙂

Do we keep the papers in or remove them after we have sewn the pieces together

is there an alternative block we can use? I don't have the materials for EPP and have no experience with it.
