I think the fact that Dylan is a guy is what saved him here. Spring Ma had the better squash but Dylan was able to absorb it. Some of those rallies she put him through were very very good, very accurate and great holds. Main difference was winners from loose balls at the front. Dylan was able to absorb her shots to the back when she hit from the front, she could not do the same with his shots.

Outstanding squash from both young players here. But when the match is 3-0, it's difficult to say that the winner wasn't the one with the better squash. As if at this level you can dominate a match solely with strength and athleticism while being inferior in skill. I don't think Dylan's advantage in the former was that great either, very impressive flexibility and body control from Spring Ma in this match! For me the difference was in Dylan's greater variety of attacking shots. Dylan had many winners on attacking boasts from the mid and back court, including one on a serve return, and a nice trickle boast winner in the third game too. Really kept Ma on her heels with those shots, for which she had no answer; I'm not sure she even attempted a single attacking or trickle boast in the whole match. He also caught her flat-footed on several cross courts from the back wall when Ma was expecting a rail. Ma's game was in contrast was more predictable. Her backhand volley smashes and drops in particular were devastating, but other than that she didn't feature a lot of weapons to put Dylan under pressure.

I dunno, he's way more fluid, has better technique, more touch at the front, better footwork, better holds...

Agree.Dylan is definitely the better player - he looked to be playing within himself mostly -not at full throttle. Ma plays well - moves well and hits clean lines - just not at the level of Dylan.@@artax3434

I don't agree with your comments. They are both great players, but the better player one for sure. 3-0
