My favorite part of this video is that you don’t flash the pictures, you keep them up for just about as long as you’re talking about them. I find it very helpful.

Same! I’m knitting while watching, so I don’t always look up right away. By the time I look, most people have taken the photo away already and I have to back up.

I really love the sweater you are wearing. The tiny pink tulips are so cute! I know this is a year old, but it is spring and I love inspiration youtubes.

Love seeing set-in sleeves come back. I enjoy vintage patterns, where two needle construction was the norm. They help me track my progress by breaking a garment down into pieces. Versus working in the round, where I keep loosing track and trying to keep my interest without getting discouraged. Modern patterns have seemed almost allergic to set-in sleeves or seaming, but for me seamless isn't a selling point! All of your colors are beautiful and perfectly coordinated- this is really inspiring me to look into a color analysis!

I'm excited for the set-in sleeves comeback! Although I'm not the biggest fan of seaming, I agree that it shouldn't be a turn off immediately. So much structure and shape can come from seamed pieces!

Hi, Great organized episode and some nice picks. I’m thinking of knitting the peacock tee. I love Holst Garn and highly recommend that you look at their Tides yarn. Tides is my favorite. It’s wool and silk and perfect for spring knits. I like supersoft and coast too but coast is a bit thinner and I either double it for a dk weight or knit it at a 25-28 stitch guage. Supersoft and Tides look great at a 23-24 guage imo. All of them require washing/blocking in hot water and dish soap to get rid of the spinning oil and they bloom beautifully. Supersoft isn’t as soft as the other two but I find it gets softer with each wash. I recommend ordering sweater quantities of cakes of all three to see what you like best before buying cones. You only need 3 or 4 cakes to make a sweater. You can even knit a coast tee doubled with 4 cakes. Best place to purchase is on the company’s website on a day the US dollar is strong. Prices are 30% cheaper than what you see because when you put in a us shipping address, the VAT is removed. The smallest size package costs about $14 to ship and can include up to 900 grams I think (but the cones weighs more than 500 g because the cone weight and there is always extra yarn).

The weather here definitely varies! Our winters are quite cold and summers can get really hot. But we always see our fair share of snow in the winter and even early spring!

I’m currently using holst garn coast and I love it!! I tried the super soft and found it to be too scratchy for me. Highly recommend the holst garn coast!!

I just saw a video yesterday where someone was talking about the Holst Garn - but don't remember which particular one - & they said it was scratchy, but after they washed it, it became buttery soft.

@@playhooky I had heard that as well, but my super soft still felt scratchy to me. The coast is really soft before and after washing in my opinion. I’ve made a pair of fingerless gloves from coast and absolutely love them!

Chiming in to say that I had the same experience with Supersoft, but Coast is a great alternative in the same weight. I‘ve knit a shrug out of coast in the past that I unfortunately felted in a wash but it was one of my favourites for spring/summer!

I would like to encourage you to try a bamboo/cotton blend &/or linen/cotton blend for a summer top! And actually my favorite is when there is some silk in the mix. Patons had Silk Bamboo a couple years ago which I thought was wonderful, but alas appears to be discontinued.

Loved how thorough this video was! I've worked with both palette and supersoft and they're both gorgeous yarns, BUT supersoft and coast are very much light fingering weight yarns compared with the palette. I'd definitely encourage you to poke around to see if there are notes on the gauge in each of those yarns for the weekender!

I made the Weekender Light with a light fingering weight sock yarn and I LOVE it!! I made it with less ease than recommended and 3/4 length sleeves so it's great for spring. I even wear it in the summer when I'm going to be in my air conditioned office all day and it works great.

As a fellow Dark Winter, I have to say I was absolutely in love with your deep blue sweater! Winters tend to have icy colours instead of pastels, although the difference may be tricky to find IRL. As I live in the South Hemisphere and we get much more warm weather than cold weather - in terms of duration -, I use my Dark Winter palette throughout the year. Magenta - the pantene colour of the year - is great for Winters! Also turquoise and lemon yellow are great options for warm weather

Great insight on the icy vs pastel - I can visualize the difference but find it hard to describe! I'd LOVE to knit something magenta one day - it's a little out of my comfort zone but I think the end result will be lovely!

Great podcast. I am a winter too! I am really trying to knit colors that work with my skin tone. I just casted in the Marysia in KFO dusty artichoke…not in the winter palette but I think I can get away it😉

You should try the jeanius yarn from oh my pebbles for the faded denim color you want. Is actually yarn made from recycled denim but is waaay softer than any recycled yarn i have ever tried. I know they now sell it in USA

Hallo! Can i make a sugestion? I love your videos! But sometimes I get very confused with the measurements, I would love if sometimes you can also say measurements in celcius/m. I dont know if you make some kind of script before recording the videos, but sometimes It get very difficult to follow (for exemple in this video with the degrees). I am sure I am not the only one outside Unite States that love your channel! Remember this is just a sugestion and if is difficult to implement I will still love your videos. I will shop from my local yarn stores or order online from US-based retailers! yarn.com and woolandcompany.com are two big online stores that ship to the US.

I don't know how much of what I see is influenced by your camera/editing and my screen, but in my opinion you are neutral and muted - something between soft autumn and soft summer. This hit me when I complimented you on your navy sweater (navy suits you better than black in my opinion wich is trait of soft/muted aspect). I also think that purple and oat from your spring palette suits you the best and those are soft autumn colors too.

Interesting! It might just be the camera - I feel like in person I have high contrast which would put me in the winter season. Knowing it's not an exact science - I have found some colors from the other seasons look good on me as well!

@@neknits you may verify it quite easily by comparing photos of yourself in diffrent (soft and harsh) lightning wearing black&white and cream&navy outfits. This may give diffrent results in diffrent seasons of the year as well since your skintones seem neutral. I'm warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter but in the soft autumn area all year around although with slightly bigger contrast in summer. It may be more complicated for you since you give vibes similar to Angelina Jolie who is soft autumn most of the time but looks good in black while wearing stronger make-up.
