I have that same Chronicles of Narnia collection!! I was spring cleaning as a child once and foolishly thought I wouldn't want them, and then when I got older I was cursing my younger self for getting rid of the set. (Thankfully my mom had the foresight that my nine year old self didn't and saved them for me.) Was so cool to see that someone else has a collection like mine, I hope you get to read and enjoy them one day!! Great video as always ❤

Pro tip: you can use lemon and lime rinds to clean your garbage disposal. They’re both antibacterial/antimicrobial, so they fight bacteria and smell at the same time, and it’s a way to use up the whole fruit with very little waste. I’ve never used the tablets that go in the garbage disposal so idk if they put plastics in the water or anything, but I find it easier and cheaper to just use lemon and lime peels. My mom used to use the tablets, and eventually switched to just using lemons and limes, and she says they works just as well as the tablets.

The "eager hands and happy heart" rhetoric kinda worries me a bit, tbh. It sounds like the sort of thing you hear people saying you 'should be' as a woman rather than who you actually are. It's great to try to take better care of ourselves and our homes in search of happiness, but please do not try to fit yourself into a fantasy that someone else made up. ❤

  • @kirstenway4762

I actually was most inspired by this part! I hear what you’re saying but I think there can also be an aspect of having eager hands and a happy heart simply because we are human. Like she said in the beginning of her video, we GET to take care of our home. It’s coming from a place of gratitude for our lives. I’m sure it can be easily twisted into something bad if you are not careful but I don’t think that’s where she’s coming from. I can’t speak for her though! I just wanted to add my two cents and say that part inspired me to love on the people and things in my life a little more rather than choosing the lazy thing first. Glad to hear more than one perspective!

Strange to be worried and turn something that is generally true for all people into an “anti-feminist” sentiment. When people keep themselves busy, man or woman, when we take care of ourselves and our surroundings, when we get stuck in with things we enjoy, our mood DOES get better. She never claimed those tasks make us who we are, just that it provides her contentment. This comment seems like a projection.

What a strange thing to say about someone that is using this within the context of appreciating the space they have. And even if she is using this in the context of what a woman “should be”, what if that’s what she really is? Is there something inherently wrong with being a more traditional woman?
