Spring Charm
There was a small cottage surrounded by a lush forest. The big forest that little Muse frequently wanders off to every time her peers entertain themselves with work.
Unfortunately, she was never alone.
Shadow, her third nanny, which she has a complicated relationship with, was always trailing behind her.
It doesn’t matter how many times Muse tries to bribe him, he will always prevent her from venturing alone. What’s worse is, he never lets her explore new places or eat delicious berries!
The audacity of him! Muse has already paid him a huge sum of bribes.
She fed him quality food, from the delicious greens to yuc- yummy food, like oats, and he still acts so unruly!
Out of exasperation, the little elf grabs a rock from the floor and chucks it at a nearby bush.
To her surprise the bush continues to shake from her attack.
At the corner of her eyes she sees Shadow hunched over looking at the bush, he opened and closed his mouth. He was chirping like birds….
How strange, the dog doesn’t chirp.
A set of green eyes flings open and is met with a canopy of trees. Huge tall trees, different from the cottage’s forest.
She lays still to let her mind process a tune. The sound was rich like honey and pure like cotton… It made Muse dreamt of her childhood.
The elf stands up to seek the source of music.
Muse reaches a nearby river and sees a beautiful elf adorned of expensive attire playing the flute.
Muse does not wander close, instead she hides to listen to the rest of the music, and slowly falls asleep.
The mysterious elf felt Muse's presence for a long time but chose to ignore her. She packed up her stuff and left the area before night.
During the night a hooded figure walks by and finds the sleeping elf. The stranger stands still for a while.
“What - AGAIN ? How does this elf survive for so long?”
