As a multi-year visitor around 3 hours away for 60 years, I am about done. Vacation is about rest and relaxation not taking your Blood Pressure up to the next level. If sitting in lines for up to an hour or more, sitting in traffic for hours, elbow-to-elbow people on the sidewalks, having to take out a loan at the bank to fund your three or four day trip is your idea of a vacation, you've found the right place.

We learned the “spring break lesson” a few years ago! We were very surprised at the size of the crowds; no more March/April trips! Our kids are grown so May is our month for spring trips☺️. While we love that special place, I have come to believe that crowds have simply overcome & overwhelmed the space that there is to accommodate them at peak times. There is simply not enough room there for that many people??!!
@AdventureIsOutThere

We did our best to outline when most spring breaks would happen this month & next. Last week it was pretty quite in town and was the perfect time to visit. It will get quite after next week again until summer break. Hopefully will get back out to Roaring Fork/Cades Cove for another video there soon!

Love your videos. I go at least once a year and although I have done everything and yes it’s become very touristy, just a change of scenery and the vibes of Gatlinburg are really fun for me. I love being able to walk and get a coffee, and enjoy the mountains. And hey.. I love people watching 😂
Walking tours are awesome. We were in Gatlinburg in 2022. Nice to see it again. Realize that this area is nowhere close to a major airport. It is a drive to get there. Worth a road trip. The drive through the Smoky Mountains is beautiful. 🫶

@@AdventureIsOutThere Many years ago when we would come to Gatlinburg more often than now, there was a .50 fee per ride on each trolley line in Gatlinburg. The trolley to Pigeon Forge was a little more. It has been many years since we have been up there until about 4 years ago, when my wife and daughter and I came up for the first time in many years. We didn't ride the trolley in Gatlinburg on that trip, so they were probably free by that time. We did however park at Patriot park and rode the trolley to Dollywood and back. That cost us $3 each way. Total of $18. Probably didn't save much by not parking at Dollywood.

Been going to Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge since 1980's. This March I attended Ponies in the Smokies Mustang show. Traffic was fair to bad. Did the Gatlinburg thing years ago We enjoy Pigeon Forge much more. You can drive back roads and plenty of parking to get around. There is another youtube channel on here Everything Autos in Gatlinburg that highlights the horrible parking situation there as they tow tons of vehicles for super high fees. They have buses there to get around but are often packed. Older people can't walk a gazillion miles to get around and when they park somewhere they do not see the sign and get towed or a business employee tells them to park there. Pretty sad tourist trap that Gatlinburg. With minimal ways to get in and out of the town they do very little to help tourists have a pleasant experience.

Why do people vacation during times like spring break in Gatlinburg like a bunch of lemmings? Do normies find the extreme crowds and lines enjoyable? Even late spring is better.
