I've always found the deer in and around Toronto understand humans and aren't skiddish unless approached or purposely bothered. Spring is indeed coming and so are more birds who are migrating, which is exciting. East of Toronto here and all the wildlife is starting to move again, from the mammals to the birds. Apart from this cooler weather here, I expect a warm May and some good bird watching opportunities.

Thanks very much Andy, I'm glad you are enjoying the new species, it's fun studying them and they are so much in common with our SparrowHawk which as you know are difficult to get close to. You are getting some great shots of them, loving the latest stare from a distance. Thanks for watching, a new Hawk to come soon. Rich 👍

Richard when you mentioned the regulars who leave a comment the Piano Man came to mind , it’s nine o’clock on a Saturday the regular crowd shuffles in. I’m sure you know the rest 👍 another top outing Rich and thanks for the R3 tip setting up a pause focus button when filming. I will give it a go heading down south Margaret River for a week or more. Taking my R3 and putting the RF 200 - 800mm for a good tryout lots of birds ,wildlife and Wineries to see..

Many thanks Scott, it's lovely to see and experience new birds species but I'll always miss the ones from home, especially the Barn Owl and our Kingfisher! Yeah, so tame in the city which kinda spoils it a bit! Still beautiful animals. Cheers R💪

Hey Martyn, Thanks very much for catching up with my videos and I hope you had a good time in the New Forest, such a lovely place to go and a good spot for Hawfinch I believe? Norfolks a top spot for the Marsh Harriers so I hope you have a great time and get some cracking pictures. Yeah it's great to spend time with species close to home and they are addictive to watch! I've just come back from being away too, spending time in the wilderness, one video out today at 12 o'clock my time and 1700 your time. All the best R👍

Glad you enjoyed it Craig, it was a great day and to see the Hawks so close and the early Eastern Pheobe arrive was a nice sign of Spring. More to come very soon. R👍
Great video as always. That call is actually a Black Capped Chickadee and not a Northern Cardinal.

Thanks Dan, of course! Got a bit confused as it's quite a sound for a small bird. Thanks again for watching. all the best 👍
Nice one Rich, enjoyed this one mate. Them Blue Jays & Coopers Hawks are stunning birds! Like you said, unusual for deer to be so accepting to humans in the wild, guess they’re used to it & don’t regard us as a threat - which could be a mistake in Canada! Keep on keeping on mate! Best, Nick
@RichardBirchett
Ай бұрын
Thanks Nick, yeah they really are special birds! It is a bit different and as I said I'm not keen on the closeness bit but that won't always be the case! Cheers for watching. Rich 👍
Another great video Richard. I know you made reference in the video but is the Coopers Hawk the American equivalent of our Sparrowhawk? The first bird I found on our recent trip was a Turkey Vulture. I had amazing views as it flew around and settled in a nearby tree. The experience was increased when a ground squirrel popped out of a hole right next to me! I understand to buzz you must be getting experiencing all the new wildlife.
@RichardBirchett
Ай бұрын
Thanks Steve, the Cooper's is quite a bit bigger than our Eurasian Sparrowhawk but the smaller Sharp Shinned Hawk 'Sharpie' is roughly the same size and looks quite similar, got a great pair of legs too😆! See loads of Turkey Vultures here but still yet to get a decent picture of one, massive birds from what we are used to. Nice when you get those experiences mate, that's what it's all about. Always a buzz when I am around nature mate. Thanks again for catching up on the videos, your support as always from my homeland is much appreciated mate. Cheers Rich 🙏👍
