That’s my favourite thing they do about the anime. They give the Pokémon more personalities than they do in the game. You would never see Sprigg doing this in the game.

Yeah. Even though each one has characteristics unique to them as different party members, they’re not really unique outside of the metadata, even if they have characteristics in their animations in and out of battle. But from “Black and White” backwards they felt much more lifeless and more like hollow cutouts than companions. In the anime, the characters that are different species of Pokémon (most of them though) each have much more distinct characteristics, personalities and quirks, which also makes the world of Pokémon itself feel more alive.

And “Spriggy” here is no exception, even after evolving into Floragato. Both her and Liko are my favourite two characters in the series. Roy is also a really fun character and he reminds me a lot of Ash Ketchum. And Fuecoco is just ace, though I really worry about him evolving into Skelidirge and his personality changing.

I wonder what you’d call a compilation like this for her now she’s a Floragato. I think it’d be called “Floragato Still Being Sprigatito”, since she’s still that playful little cat we know, and I think she’ll still be like that after evolving into Meowscarada.
