Did you know that Pench National Park inspired Rudyard Kipling to write the popular ‘Jungle Book’ which tells stories of the little boy Mowgli and the jungle animals?
Pench National park can be reached easily from Nagpur Railway Station or Nagpur Airport as it is just 2 hours away from Nagpur City.
Pench tiger reserve has 11 gates of which 5 are in Madhya Pradesh and 6 in Maharashtra state. Pench is the only national park spread across 2 states.
Let’s understand the booking for the Pench Tiger safari.
Among all the gates of Pench National Park, Turia and sillari are the most popular; hence, the safari booking fills up quickly, and you need to book well in advance for these gates.
You can book your permit through Madhya Pradesh Government Official Website: forest.mponline.gov.in for Turia & Sillari Gates.
But in case you don’t get the booking for Turia gate you can always opt for khursapar gate. It is a core zone but not many people are aware of it and hence many times the Tiger safari booking is available at a short notice.
Khusrapar Gate falls in Maharashtra.

The total safari cost us 4500 RS that included a Permit cost of 1500 RS, Guide Fees of 500 RS & Gypsy Cost of 2500 RS
Also, you can save About 2000 RS if you book Khusrapar Safari instead of Turia as the Safari Cost & Permit are cheaper.
We had booked our stay at Vann Life Resort through their own website.
The rooms were neat, spacious, and clean. The resort area is huge and they have a garden and walk area inside. Their restaurant food was delicious as well.
The room cost us about 4500 INR. Although the prices may vary from season to season.
The best time to visit Pench National Park is from November to May. The weather is pleasant in winter While summer is better for wildlife sightings. We visited in the month of January.
Khursapar is a small area hence the Tiger density is high.
We saw a tigress and her cubs crossing the path.
Tigress crossed our path only for a few seconds but it made our Pench Tiger safari worthwhile and we felt like the safari was complete. The cubs were extremely adorable. We had never seen the cubs crossing our safari path before.
It's not only about tiger spotting but when you do spot a tiger you feel jubilant.
